When do they make the actual decision to set in stone the fixture for the floating rounds?
Beats me. I want to go to the Showdown with a group, yet we can't get tickets due to the absence of a defined time. Gives me the shit s. I'm guessing that for the earliest post-bye rounds they will need to give at least a week or two's notice for the definitive time.

We might just give it a few weeks and make sure Port aren't actually decent before tempting fate
Rinse and repeat Ken Hinkley era.

Beat up on bottom ten sides for ladder position. Struggle against top 8 sides. Lose Finals against the best teams.

Last year start an outlier, they got hit hard with COVID just before the season. After 0 and 5, the same pattern emerged.

All the bedwetters get worried seeing them win during the season need to remember this. Each cheap win brings Kenny's extension closer. With 0.0 threat of really achieving anything.

Random thought for a former number 1 pick, Andrew McGrath avoids a lot of criticism.

Ken is going anyway at seasons end. He is off to the Gold Coast in some capacity. No amount of wins or losses will make a difference.

I think the lack of good teams gives Port a chance this year.

I see Dixon is conveniently injured for the West Coast game. Good chance to have a week off.

The fact we are seen as "The Real Deal" reflects lack of clear contenders thus far.

Geelong, Coll, Melb, Syd, Bris you would expect to be up there when whips are cracking.

I actually think that's a really good thing for the Suns. Criticize him all you want for his lack of tactical nous, one thing he had done very well is generally creating a football environment that players want to stay in. The exact sort of thing that the Suns need to develop.

Yep, you’d think his time had come, probably would’ve got rid of him last year if they could afford to I reckon. It doesn’t look like he’s lost the players so I wonder if a few players will want to go

I'm not convinced about that, if Port have a decent year no way they will move Ken on.

He'll use the GC offer to leverage another hefty pay day from Port.

Kochie seems really risk adverse and is all about what makes him look good so I can't see him taking a risk by moving Ken on if they make the finals.

I must say Ken talking to JHF in the rain after the kid stank up the first 3 quarters and then probably win them the game in the last was almost iconic. Genuinely great coach/ young star moment
Assuming they do make finals - which looks more likely than not - they will be hard pressed to move Ken on and if they do will be locked into someone within their current system in my view
