There would be like 20k people left now..what a joke. Would love to understand the rationale of how this game deserves a marque time slot, but the Showdown never can get a Thursday or Friday night…

It feels like there are going to be alot of nothing games this season.

Aldready it seems none of these six will make it
West Cost, Kangaroo's, Richmond, St Kilda, Essendon and the Hawks.

We are probably on that list as well given our 0-4 start.
On the plus side, there's no outright flag favourites so matches involving any of the top 8-10 could go either way.

Not sure we should be in the marquee spot with Dons tomorrow night either...

This time tomorrow night Essendon will probably look like flag favourites.

The Showdown in round 8 is a Thursday night I'm pretty sure

I don't understand why people keep grouping Essendon with the other cellar dwellers. They're really not that bad - when they actually show up, they're a pretty decent side.

Yes, We have had a few marquee games this year and played very poorly. Hopefully we play an attractive style of game tomorrow night that puts us in a chance of more spotlight games. More importantly we need to win :D

Richmond have something like 14 injuries, they might play some decent footy later in the year. Dons can play good footy as can Saints, but with us, looking like they'll be at the bottom half of the middling group.

Is the AFL just admitting now that no one cares about Sunday football?

This week:

Sydney vs Gold Coast
North vs Hawthorn

Last few weeks

Geelong vs North
West Coast vs Richmond
Gold Coast vs GWS
Richmond vs St Kilda
Collingwood vs Hawthorn
Western Bulldogs vs West Coast
Richmond vs Sydney
Western Bulldogs vs Gold Coast
Richmond vs Port Adelaide
West Coast vs GWS

Almost every match this year on a Sunday has featured a team that either did badly last year or is expected to do badly this year

This really is an awful crowd for two Melbourne sides (noting weather here is cold and rainy). Really shouldnt play Thursday footy in Melbourne…

These two clubs shouldn't be anywhere near an elite national competition, they are only there due to it being an expanded VFL.

If you were setting up an elite national competition there would be at least half the number of Victorian based clubs involved.

Something oddly satisfying about a Ross team getting ripped apart on the scoreboard.
Nothing odd about that at all.

I don't think I've ever hated an era more than Ross' first stint at St Kilda. I laughed my guts out when they lost the GF after being oooooh so close. Schadenfreude at its most glorious...except for Port going out in straight sets again. 🤣

So after being the sub last week, Bailey Dale ends up with 39 at 92%DE, 15 marks, 1 goal, 1 GA and 9 SI
