why the hell do umpires call not 15 before the receiver (who's invariably moving) marks it?

Mackie just kicked the ball all of 25 and the umpire called not 15 while the ball was not even 3 quarters of the way there

As far as I'm concerned if the ball is kicked and caught it is a mark.

Length of the kick is irrelevant and only aimed at trying to make the game look nicer.

Whilst I enjoy watching the Tigers lose.. I was actually a little sad they couldn't win for a club legend like Hafey.. I know it doesn't make any difference.. but something in me just thinks you have to find a way to win on the field when your club needs it..

To celebrate one of their greatest legends.. I thought they were pretty weak and insipid from start to finish.

I guess I'd like to believe that being a 'club' still means something in this business...
