The round of upsets... lets hope our boys have got the 'wake up' call... need to be sharp tomorrow...

Keeps top 4 a sneaky chance.. IF everything goes right...

Also means we aren't the only team to lose to that rabble! Personally I don't like the Saints.. but I am glad they 'did' it for their champ in Lenny.. he deserves their effort today.

Thankfully we are no longer the saints last win.

Also makes the top 4 race very interesting. Port back in there with a good shot. And if those 5 teams are fighting it out right up til round 23, it's better for the teams that finish 6-8.

Ballsy, when the guy you're doing that to has a month longer in his season than you do.

when you have legitimate concerns about whether you will ever win another game, i'm all for it

Umps are super strict on the 15m rule when kicking, Obviously a focus, no coincidence that the coaches raised it at Gil's place this week saying it should be 20m. Few are being called when they have been easily 15m.

I dont get this changing interpretation every week of a rule. Change them in the off season and then leave them for the year

I'm not happy about that Saints result. It just highlights how close any team can be to a totally shit game. It's hard to be as confident about tomorrow as i was before.

I do get it. During the season umpires can become a bit slack with certain rules and players can take advantage of things umpires let go. Umps will focus on something for a week or 2 to bring back a bit of equilibrium with the rule and what is actually happening.

I always think that if I were a player I would force myself to watch the first game of the week so I knew what rule the umpires would be focussing on for the week.

This change in particular is a trial though, they are seeing how it affects the game, so they are experimenting during a season which breeds inconsistencies and is incredibly frustrating when something is a free kick or play on one week and not the next.

This is supposed to be a professional competition, however its run more and more like a amateur comp every day

If they called it as 15m, correctly, then there is no need to change to 20m.

The inconsistency of what umpires deem to be 15m is ridiculously bad. 15m running before a bounce, 15m kick to be a mark. Yet players are consistently allowed to run further than 15m, and kicks less than 15m get paid as a mark.
