Everyone will be loving Port & Bulldogs in a few years when Merrett and Langford are dominating.

But, it's a roof...

So, Collingwood?

You'd be getting nervous if you were running that club and you didn't spend half your life with the coach's ball in your mouth.

To be fair, in 2 - 4 years the stockpile of Pies first round picks should come good and return them to the fore. Just need some top end quality in the KP posts for the future and the future looks bright imho

I know it's only his second year, but I think the Bont may be one of my favorite non-Essendon players to watch.

Said in this very thread that he has all the attributes to become one of the best in the AFL.

A combination of inside and out, tall marking goal kicking midfielders don't exactly stay foot soldiers for long.

That would be 5 to 7 years it has taken Buckley to 'regenerate' a premiership dynasty built on players in their early to mid 20s.

Man management is part of coaching.

After Fox Footy's stuff up in comparing Sam Lloyd (Richmond) as plays like Michael Walters, the very same fox footy are comparing Tom Lamb (WCE) as playing similar to our very own David Myers. You know? The high marking endurance athlete that does freak things?

This, is the delusional pearlers thread, yeah?

I don't expect it to take that long but I do expect it to happen.

You're not very good at this Yoda. By any reckoning all Collingwood has done is dismantled a premiership side and gone backwards. St. Kilda also dismantled a finals side, but the was because their good coach left, not because they forced him out.

Buckley would have been sacked at any other club, but he has special circumstances.

You don't need to go backwards to go forwards, look at Swans, Geelong, Hawthorn. If you're coached well and recruit well you recycle with a winning team and philosophy.

A mate has just posted that Ben cousins just got arrested in his street on top of a 2 story house........interesting to see if it is a look-alike or breaking story.

Sad how downhill his life has gone since his playing career.

That's what Melbourne said....

As I mentioned, the only thing holding back the pies is the forward planning of aplomb KPP's. I quite like the actual make up of there somewhat undeveloped list.

What's not to like about Scharenberg, N.Freeman, Broomhead, Kennedy, deGoey, Seedsman and Langdon?

That's what Melbourne said....

Melbournes problem was essentially the same as Collingood's. Retiring/trading the teachers/leaders in a short period of time.

Collingwood at least has the time to re establish itself with the likes of Pemdlebury, Swan, Cloke still on the list. Who did Melbourne have at the time? Colin Garland?

I was being a bit facetious.

I think Collingwood have the resources to turn their high picks into good players and to get their draft selections mostly correct in the first place.
