just not interested in watching something that will be worse quality than bush footy everyone needs to stop being so politically correct women are just not as good at sports is it fair no is it true yes

You're not contractually obligated to watch it.

Ok, womens cricket doesn't have the power, but it's not shite.

Generous.

You don't watch a lot of women's sport do you?

Ok, womens cricket doesn't have the power, but it's not shite. Go play the Vic women's indoor team, they'll wreck you. Same for Women's hockey & soccer. There's a reason why we're ranked where we are in Basketball. As for netball, there's a reason why major channels have been chasing the viewing rights of late. It's fantastic to watch! Bloody brilliant sport!!

I can appreciate that when you compare men's football to women's you might feel like you're getting an inferior product because it's not as fast.
The thing is it's not about being the same thing. It's about embracing the sport for all.

Are you so close minded that you can't just enjoy it for what it is? No one's forcing you to like something but at least give it a chance.
didnt the under 15s of some shit a league club smash the Australian side in soccer and i couldnt care less about any of them sports you just mentioned

Women's good basketball fundamentals make up for their inability to dunk

Why would Carlton get a women's team before St. Kilda or Geelong? Baffling.

The melts are entertaining though.
Princes Park, the new home of women's footy.

Might as well go semi-yaco here:
Reads almost exactly like Hawthorn's "thanks but no thanks".

Knowing how the League runs these things, it seems a fair enough assumption that Melbourne and Footscray have teams locked in courtesy of having done the groundwork, as do Carlton to secure Princes Park as the primary venue, so there's only really one licence up for grabs and that may well have been pre-allocated as well.

I am all for it but i doubt i would go to many games. For me it will be something i may watch a few games on TV but i can not really get excited about following any of the teams given they are AFL sides. That is the only negative for me , other than that i think it is great and i hope it works well. I think we would have loved us to have been involved but the events of the last few years certainly put us at the bottom of the list.

Geelong are a country side with a decent amount of money and would have had western Vic for the most part.

St. Kilda are SE suburbs (where the vast majority of women's football is being played) and have a strong connection with the women's community (with, y'know, hiring the first female assistant coach in the AFL).

Carlton are a club in the Northern Suburbs where they have Collingwood and are close to Melbourne too. Their presence from a geographical standpoint is baffling.

Forgot about that *******.

Agree 100%.

Hope the women develop AFL bodies. This is an ongoing issue in womens sport.

I dunno, they might be disqualified from playing if they develop men's bodies.

It's a new league yaco, not a new bionic lab.

Don't take my post literally - My post is in reference to the body shape of women in professional sports - Too many have unfit looking bodies - Or in other words are fat.

i would be worried if even the fittest of women had a body shape anything like men

Do we really care how a woman looks when they play sport? If they are elite in their field what does it matter what they look like? They could look overweight but if they can set a world record what does it matter? Athletes (both men and women) aren't there to look pretty.

You do understand the differences between men and women, right?

Heh. If I were competing in taekwondo I'd rather face a man than a woman. There are sports where men are superior to women, naturally. But there are also sports that women are superior to men as well.

is that because you wouldnt want to kick a women no doubt men kick a ****load harder

No, because women are better at taekwondo. It's as simple as that. Also the men kick slightly harder but I can tell you that women at the elite level can kick you and do significant damage. I've had bruised ribs from sparring with a woman before.

What I'm curious about in terms of the Women's league is whether they change the father/son rule to a "parent/child" rule.
