Does anyone else in here still have a grin from ear to ear at how shit Hawthorn are this year?
Best way to rub it in. We finish last due to suspended players and get McGrath. They finish last and get pick somewhere after 20 :D

Nathan jones labels Clayton Oliver the best young talented player he's seen at the club in ten years. No shit Nathan. Not hard to work that out when you put him up against guys like Cale Morton.
There's also a couple of guys named Jesse Hogan and Christian Petracca to contend with.

This chart clearly indicates how ruthless we have been.

LIST CHANGES SINCE 2013
CLUB TOTAL
Carlton 51
Brisbane Lions 48
Essendon 43
Melbourne 41
Geelong 41
Collingwood 40
Gold Coast 38
Greater Western Sydney 36
Sydney 35
West Coast 34
St Kilda 34
Richmond 33
Hawthorn 33
Adelaide 33
Port Adelaide 31
Western Bulldogs 31
Fremantle 31
North Melbourne 31
That chart is roughly inverse to how the clubs perceive the quality of their lists as well I would think. Clubs further down that list are more likely to be in (or are just coming out of) a premiership window or else are thoroughly deluded. Nearer the top and you're just coming out of a rebuild.

Exactly.

Obviously North and Freo are a great example their of not getting it right when they had their opportunity. They have a long time down the bottom I feel unless they get a lot right in the next few years.

Adelaide, Richmond, Port and a few others need to strike now or they could find they have missed the boat!

Our year to strike should be in about three years and hopefully by then the Doggies and GWS will be showing signs of wear and tear. Other than those two clubs and Melbourne I feel we are in a very good position based on where our list is currently at.

Of those three I don't see Richmond or Port getting very far. Adelaide are terrifying this year though, and I hope some club sometime figures out how to dismantle them.

I think we were looking at the medium term when we hired Worsfold weren't we? I remember going to that member forum thing last year but I don't remember the details haha, except for the idea that we're building a team that's going to be successful in the long term (like repeated finals appearances and ultimately a grand final appearance type of scenario).

I think they had no option with Woosha but to give him only three years.

Unfortunately the previous coaches didn't see out their contracts and it obviously had an effect on the bottom line!

I believe if we show enough by the end of next year it will be inevitable that they sign him up for at least two more years.

I hope they don't make the mistake of doing it this year though because I believe it would just bring unwanted attention.

It did come up at the sponsor night what the guys thought of Adelaide, if I recall the comments were that they were bloody good but the question was raised could they sustain the way they moved the ball for a full year.

Well that's it isn't it? If they don't keep it forward of centre then it falls apart.

I said Happy Star Wars day to one of my volunteers (he's in his 70's) and he questioned me on it. I said, "You know, may the fourth be with you ..." and he told me I needed to get a life :(
Sounds like that guy needs to lighten up and get a sense of humor ;)
