Saw this on Greenfield today...not bad..
Which country is your club.
Adelaide — Singapore: stable, alleged democracy where even a corruption scandal of the highest order can’t dethrone club leaders.
Brisbane — Cuba: plunged into abject poverty by the incompetent Voss dictatorship, the Lions are showing early signs of recovery.
Carlton — Italy: Living beyond its means during the 80s and 90s and forever running two sets of books has given rise to a period of austerity and a bleak outlook for which it only has itself to blame.
Collingwood — Zimbabwe: once a fertile list with a bright future under Mick Malthouse, President McGuire and Lieutenant Buckley staged a coup, returning control of the club to its people… and proceeded to **** it all up for at least a generation to come
Essendon — Russia: clinging to the questionably-obtained relevance it enjoyed in the mid 1980s, it has toiled through sanctions and pharmacological experimental environments to emerge a self-unaware financial basket case with delusions of grandeur
Fremantle — South Africa: just when you think things are starting to improve you’re quickly reminded just how far this club still has to come.
Geelong — Australia: recession proof for more than two decades and performed strongly through the global financial crisis. However recent indicators suggest it’s now a bubble on the verge of bursting
Gold Coast — Greece: fun-loving, sun-soaked holiday destination continually in need of financial bail-outs from its peers.
GWS — China: after a well-planned build-up, appear poised to dominate for the foreseeable future.
Hawthorn — The Vatican: wealthy, powerful and hypocritically alleges family values while always turning a blind eye to its multitude of abhorrent transgressions
Melbourne — France: no real influence in the league since the mid 20th century coupled with a tendency to surrender
North Melbourne — shitty parts of New Zealand: Nothing to see or admire here — pretty much goes unnoticed.
Port Adelaide — Philippines: outspoken President gives league-wide voice to an otherwise regional club.
Richmond — Fiji: beautiful one day, coup the next.
St Kilda — Argentina and/or Brazil: perpetually on the verge of scandal, its unrivalled propensity for booms and busts is only matched by its peerless inability to achieve its potential leaving a vast and loyal supporter base disillusioned.
Sydney — Israel: thrives in enemy territory through a culture of innovation, hard work and close ties with the AFL.
WCE — Colombia: has worked hard to wean itself off the opioid and narcotics dependency that had taken hold of the club during the 90s and 00s.
WB — Canada: polite, multicultural and inoffensive (apart from a recent bogan fan). Impossible to hate… honestly, what have they done to anyone?
The AFL — USA: global enforcer that may have created its own downfall in GWS.
