Genuine shot at our first flag wasted imo given how beatable everyone is and how our side was rising and top 4/top 2 was right there.
I’ve tried to explain that’s the reason I honestly don’t give a stuff about barracking for sides to lose so we can finish 8th. Our year is gone.

Maybe our mistake was not having a coach sacking level of slump in the middle of the season. Sydney, Giants, Port, and Geelong all had horror periods earlier on in the season and have had the time to recover and find form again where it mattered.
We've lost in consecutive weeks twice this year - and both times we pat ourselves on the back because the losses were close. Gives the illusion that little needs to change.
At the same time it's infuriating that we've been in every single game right up until the final minutes for the past nine weeks yet teams that were getting dealt consecutive losses of 30+ points during that time have well and truly jumped us.

Probably because we've come close to winning every single one of our games since the dogs game no matter how in form the opposition are?
We had more shots vs the Giants who had won 6 in a row, were fielding a full strength team, were playing at home, and we were missing three of our key players. That's on top of Banfield and Cox playing the worst games of their lives.
We're clearly a good enough team to compete with anyone.
