My next-door neighbor is a Norf supporter and every now and then I hear him groan and swear at how bad his team plays through the walls. Cracks me up.
What’s the chances of living next door to one of the 14 supporters they have.
You should run a side gig charging people money to look at one.
They’re that rare

Great round next week re teams fighting for 1st 4 and top 8

Melb v Coll

WB v Frem

Geel v StK

Port v Rich

Bris v Carl
Looking at that. Sydney wouldn't want a banana skin v NM.
Big chance to gain positioning on 4-5 finals sides

The Saints ( currently 8th ) are on the nose big time - according to the Bookies - to make the top 8

Top 8 Betting

Stk $4.50

Rich $1.90

WB $1.90

Carl $1.15 - wow - i wouldnt be knocking over any one in the que -to get a slice of the $1.15 - because they have got the wobbles big time

Frem $1.01 - The only time id back Freo at $1.01 - is to shitt the bed

Agree with the bolded, especially since they have Brisbane (Gabba), Melbourne and Collingwood in the run home. Would be rank outsiders in all 3 you would think.

Saints we need to beat, for continuity and guaranteeing top 2, but also as they have beaten us pretty convincingly earlier this year. Need to erase that memory- not the margin, but the ease they beat us in one quarter, like we did to Dogs yesterday.

It will be a good incentive for the players. They won’t have liked that loss.

Don’t assume that the team listed on their profile is actually the team they support
Pretty much this. Or that they are just more into stirring and working people up than anything else about footy. What each person enjoys about football is their own thing. For a small few it is not about winning, but getting a bit of adrenalin out of stirring others or banter

I dunno whether it's actually a good result tbh. The odds just increased that our "home" Qualifying Final will yet again being played at the opposition's home ground. Brisbane winning would have been better for us.
If Brisbane won there was a chance we would play Sydney or Brisbane interstate week one as all that had to happen was drop two games or lose one game by a decent margin and either Sydney or Brisbane thump their oppo which is a possibility.

I will take the 2 game buffer and guarantee of a non interstate trip week 1.

Knock off collingwood or Melbourne week 1 of MCG and we probably get Brisbane or Sydney prelim week.. we can’t ask for much else or avoid a Melbourne team at MCG

Hoping they throw everything at us. Games like the last two weeks will be much better tune-ups for finals than what I expect the last two games to be (though maybe GC will surprise).

They will.
Being at home will help a bit I hope.
Plus our form. But we are also a bit patchy. 4 good solid quarters would be nice.

We are a different prospect at home and they dont have the likes of Ryder or Gresham

Do you think Hawkins will play?
Rohan out, maybe Stanley is back?
Our preview is not up yet.

Kind of hoping we get Pies in week 1 of finals.
Well the Lions loss today does open up that possibility a bit more.

But looking ahead at the last few rounds, Pies very likely to lose the next two (Dee's, Swans in Sydney). Then they have Carlton to finish off which is probably 50/50.

Looking at the Lions draw, I think they'll likely overtake Collingwood and displace the Pies from the top 4.

Playing Brisbane at the G would be ideal IMO. But like you also happy to play the Pies and I'd fully expect to win that on current form.

but at the same time- its still anyone, anywhere

I went to the Brisbane v Richmond game today. They have both been able to take it up to us over the last few years with the tigers having more success.

The Lions don’t look like a cohesive team at the moment. Even when they were playing well in the first half it was individuals executing well.
The Tigers have a great connection that runs through their team and is integral to their gameplan. It can also unsettle them when it isn’t working that’s when Martin or Bolton can help to regain momentum.

I think it’s something that has really improved in our game this year. The team looks a better unit and some of the game plan borrowed from the tigers uses some of that. Doing the little things to help your team mate knocking the ball on etc rather than finding the perfect pass.

The Tigers are still a team I would not be keen to play in finals as I think they’d challenge us. But we have the gameplan and players that we should be able to beat anyone.
