Maybe, just maybe, going big with the "Richmond are back" narrative on the back of scrappy win against an inefficient opposition who were missing their entire first-choice midfield as well a bunch of other A-graders MIGHT have been a tad premature.
If anything I don't think we hyped them enough. The higher their expectations, the higher velocity of impact with reality

I just had a quick look and it's amazing how feral they are.

When we lose it's "Well Bews and 2E are really down this season, too many passengers, not enough next-in-lines stepping up, a few guys need a good run in the VFL for form and confidence"

Richmond board when they lose is "* this player and * that guy and * Hardwick and * this club and * everyone and everything".

Like fellas, just chill a bit. Losing sucks, but don't go slamming your fist through the keyboard.....
Strong vibes of the world owing them success. Like those incels that blame feminism for their personal failures and start jumping into Nazi ideology

Staggering how many snowflakes on social media are complaining about the welcome to country being performed before matches this weekend. What did they expect for Indigenous round? 🤷‍♂️

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this 🤷‍♂️. I thought the ceremony before the Richmond/Essendon game was a genuine embarrassment. Looked like absolute amatuer hour stuff made worse with so many white people performing the indigenous roles

So it looks like North Melb may have made 77 interchanges .....

Maybe North has to take the pain ... so all other can learn from this . I hope when Geelong the close to their limit... our interchange guru ... would tell the players to sit down .. only 1 to go etc .

We have signs for 3 minutes left. 30 seconds left. Why not for interchange . The probably occurred when a player chose to come off ... because he had cramped up.

What it does do is open an interesting situation as far as subing injured players off. If a player comes off to not be replaced due to what ever reason...should that be an interchange. When a player is replace due to blood rule means no interchange ... so if someone is injured ..is it an interchange? If someone comes off with cramp .... ... is that an interchange ?

With the tactical sub does that count?

The whole purpose of a cap ..is to prevent a tactical choise to rotate and keep players fresh. I don't think it should intrude on removing players physically incapacitated off the ground. If they come off not to be replaced ... then should it count ...or not count.... ?

Certainly at this round ... cant see the logic in complaining.

I dont understand the concept of the welcome to country ceremony but certainly this week ..it fits in with all the other celebrations. Visual and auditory. Teams are changing their names. Everyone is wearing jumper.... one would have to expect, id think, that there would be other embracements of a significant part of our footballs history ... just as what is done each year.

What is id like to see is a broader enhancement of reverence... so many other groups have played their part too. How many players have come from an international background ..whether migrants like a Jesaulenko or Stynes or what ever. Surely we can have a round where ..Italian and Greek and American flags or what ever ..if we can have a round with the indigenous flags flying. Talk about snowflakes... the recent reaction to a Israel flag at a North game shows how some are very sensitive. If it can work at Olympics then why not a round of footy.

We get better by embracing everyone ensuring they feel valued .. non minimising or saying others are less than others. Im not sure how we move forward together if we focus specifically and solely on one group.. no matter how worthy that focus.

It like the focus on breast cancer. A worthy cause ...but many women and men die from other cancers.. the pain of their loss is not less because it was not a cancer of the breast. Where is the round for the issue of lung cancer and colon and pancreatic cancer? Breast is less than 15% of deaths.

A Welcome to Country is highly significant. It is a way for Traditional Owners to recognise and welcome visitors to Country and ensure respect for Country. It's not a celebration per se. It's a literal welcome to the land. A reminder that we are on Aboriginal land. These are laws that have been followed here for millennia.

Maybe we can throw a bag full of money towards Harley Reid in a few years if he goes to WCE
WC will trade pick 1 for multiple first rounders as they know he will ask for a trade back asap

If i was North i would be offering pick 3 or whatever they end up with and try and get another teens pick to trade for it.

I'm hoping I can provide a few answers or responses to some of your questions above

1, Re: Geelong & when we max interchanges have a sign for that. I took this off Twitter:
Was listening to @JoshJenkins24 and he mentioned the Cats hold up an “X” sign to signal players can’t come off.

2, Re: injuries & interchanges after reaching the 75 cap:
That is still permitted, Tom Morris explained the rules around that yesterday -

- There are two I/C stewards on a bench in between the teams. One focuses on each club. Their sole job is to count rotations.
When the number reaches 75, the iPad digits turn from black to red. Both benches + coaches' boxes can see this.

- So teams don't play with 17, an injured player can be replaced after the rotation cap of 75 has been hit. But that injured player cannot return to the field. Clubs can replace up to three injured players. The I/C is cap is effectively 75 + 3 injuries.

I guess that along the way I was thinking ..... but what happened to North ..was the player came off ... ..what is an "injury" ... as the problem occurred due to a player coming off due having a stitch or cramp... The player defined that had to come off due to an incapacity to play... so if he came off and was defined as not going to go back.... there was no infringement

I think what screwed North more than anything is that they were sitting on 74 interchanges and 2 players came off the ground & to the bench at the same time

It did look like Liam Shiels was maybe cramping, but he was possible the 75th interchange and did come off on his own accord

I'd think that for teams to use the injury exemption to go over the interchange cap, you'd also need the trainer or medical staff member to be assisting the player off the field - and not just the player coming to the bench with say 90 seconds to go, them then claim they're cramping and you bring in fresh legs (someone who may have been resting for 5 minutes) to provide a level of run in the last minute or so
