I think what screwed North more than anything is that they were sitting on 74 interchanges and 2 players came off the ground & to the bench at the same time

It did look like Liam Shiels was maybe cramping, but he was possible the 75th interchange and did come off on his own accord

I'd think that for teams to use the injury exemption to go over the interchange cap, you'd also need the trainer or medical staff member to be assisting the player off the field - and not just the player coming to the bench with say 90 seconds to go, them then claim they're cramping and you bring in fresh legs (someone who may have been resting for 5 minutes) to provide a level of run in the last minute or so
Good info on geelong with the X

If I were north , Id say that is well beyond reasonable ... when there is only a minute less to go. The punishment was handed out before any sort of exemption could be asked for. At the most its 4 extra interchanges... so maybe the cap is 79 ..not 75. Would it really matter? Are we say it has to be an injury of a certain significance? Cramp... might be some sort of worse injury ..who knows etc.. We have all seen players walk of the ground with knees etc ..that were actually bad.

For minute left >>im not sure run would have done much in this case. but I agree..create an opening and coaches will drive a truck thru it.

I think North were hard done by ... by they also brought a bit of it on themselves. The way I heard it this morning. The othe rplayer was planned to be 75 ... LS ran past him and then both were off before anybody could respond.

Perhaps an X sign would have helped ...perhpas the north official should not have let the players on the ibench even stand up to think about re entering play

Could be a blowout.
The standard of commentary is so average- Brayshaw - ‘Moore reading the play better than anyone else’- when it was just a rubbish kick into the forward line and he was just the closest to it!

Our second half against West Coast really was a wasted opportunity to build percentage.
I’m more annoyed we didn’t get them during this period of so many injuries instead of when we did. We would still win by plenty.

They were, and also started well this season, but they do not match output with the talent they have
Agree- they are underperforming. They should be as good as last season
/ better when they should have beaten pies in the last round and it put them out of the finals. Pies have gone on with it, blues going backwards. Am pretty sure vossy, whom I like, is part of the problem.

Context is everything. They're basically a WAFL side.

And same goes for us. Do people actually look into the number of players missing and who they are. It's not difficult.

I'm aware of all that and I agree that injuries are responsible for their on-field uncompetitiveness.

The stats are still incredible though regardless of the circumstances. How often do you see the last-placed side losing by 100+ to the second-last placed side?
