I like listening to SEN sports day with Healy & Kane, and thought they raised an interesting observation about GWS and the growth there in western Sydney. Think there was 8k at the GWS-Freo game, now that’s probably not the best game to take note of attendance but does make you think, will that club and fanbase really grow? Especially in a heavily NRL dominated state.

I guess it's a dual brand strategy with Canberra as well

Sydney is a massive place so the potential is there
I think the AFL hastily put a team in there because Soccer did and it's a rugby heart land
They wanted to at least have a footprint

Hrm - Jeremy McGovern fronting the concussion panel - not great signs for his future :(

8k is a sizeable league crowd, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

Better to measure them up against a big Victorian club, I reckon

They've gone all out for Junior Development up there. All the prestigious schools have introduced AFL football for both male and female students. It's well taken up, partly because of the perception that's there's a lesser chance of injury than the no neck game, and more exciting/kinetic than Soccer. The Little leaguers get promotional stuff, like tix to Swans games.

Spot on 100% correct

Its a brave new changing world with all these National Sporting competions in Australia

To think that Geelong in the womens AFL team played i think Sydney at Henson Park in Newtown NSW, that was the former home ground of the Newtown Jets ( John Singletons team ) in the NRL , before they got kicked out of the comp in the early 80s

Going back in time to think that a ladies AFL game would one day be played at Henson Park , you would shake your head in disbelief .

Hand back the 2016 flag you frauds!

*jokes, i actually really enjoyed seeing them win the flag that year.

Here's a bit more info.

But honestly, if he's happy to defraud a company of $8m, he's more than happy to act unjustly in his 'part time' role, surely?
