"Master of drawing free kicks" should not be a compliment.
Ducking is honestly a blight on the game.
If you hit an opponents arm with your neck, you shouldn’t get a free kick."Master of drawing free kicks" should not be a compliment.

I don't begrudge any team that inflicts defeat on Hawthorn.Begrudgingly happy for the Gold Coast. They look good when they get it right...
Yep Ben Long is a hell of a player, slipped by me.I must say the 2 games GC played in Darwin are easily 2 of the best games I've seen tis year . With reasonably high skill levels from all sides.
Noble back and Long forward have added a lot to the Suns this year . Got them over the line last night.
That and the flopping. Hawks are getting pretty bad across the board for playing for free kicks and the worst thing is it works. Newcombe went down twice and got two free kicks in front of goals for it.Someone in media had a good idea. Start issuing fines for players leading with their head to draw frees. I'd say take that a step further and if the player does it more than 3 times - they miss a game.
Big improvement. Was some calls they overpaid for him (same as Noble and Rioli). But at the moment they look completely justified in what they paid.Yep Ben Long is a hell of a player, slipped by me.
Was he ever this good at the Saints or has he just improved enormously under Hardwick?
He knew that the Richmond dynasty was well over. The AFL really want GC to do well. GC has had access to a lot of high end talent and if you can bring the right people in with you to strengthen the off-field staff then they have a huge upside. If you have confidence in your skills to teach a winning game plan and belief that you can retain players by being a driving force behind a new culture at a club then it was a great job to take IMO.It amazes me that someone like Hardwick slipped to the Gold Coast. You can think whatever you want about him, but he's an amazing coach and Gold Coast's results reflect that.

Weird they tried to give a fine against one player for flopping this year and picked the guy who actually got hit in the head but now we are seeing more and more playing for frees and nothing being done about it.
Retrospective fines and multiple fines leading to suspensions needs to come in. Who cares if players get wiped out for small offences, thats their fault for doing the wrong thing. The comp is better to stamp it out
Gotta keep the implied pressure on so they question themselves and pay the next one. The arrogance of it is key to winning the free kick. As much as it infuriates me they are very well coached on how to achieve it.They also regularly roast the umpires when they don't get said free kick as well.
Lol. AFL protects their own. They won't fire anyone at that level, never have and never will. Gil sat around and ****ed up for years without repercussions, and Kane's cut from the same cloth - straight off the AFL assembly line of executives.
