As mentioned above that WASN'T the free kick the umpire paid. The free kick he paid was for something that happened afterward that was patently clear didn't actually happen. If I were a North supporter I would be LIVID, even as an impartial I'm still angry about it.

I suspect the contact might be from the fact the tacklers high arm came loose as they fell and were on the floor and then he got him again once he reached for the ball whilst on the ground. It's hard to tell without another angle.

They were apoplectic. They had to look away from the screen.

This is the only one I'm really pissed about. The Shuey and Selwood frees were shit but get paid most weeks so you just have to take them as they come. The non-mark to Black was blatantly incorrect by every measure.

They might have been looking for the wrong thing. As I said, more angles are needed.

I suspect the tackler made high contact initially that was declared a duck and OK, his arm then fell loose and he made high contact again on the ground - hence the umpire saying it was the 2nd one.

He's not the only one who does it. His brother at Geelong is just as good at getting frees by slinging the tackle high with his arm. Not much you can do to stop this. Just learn to tackle properly.
