Melbourne's 2 best performances this season were in the wet at the G. (vs StK&Ess)

We would have to be deplorable to lose at the dome where we are specialists.I would be disappointed if Geelong lost and we weren't 7th saturday evening, so hoping we push the accelerator and thump them by 100+. Nothing against the dees, but percentage is vital.

Was at the Dees/Freo game two weeks ago.

Very reluctant to take the game on. They look better when they attempt to (I really rate that Sam Blease, but obviously don't have the personal other then him Jones, Sylvia etc.), but make horrendous decision and skill errors.

Narni, Atley & Spud are gonna have a field day mopping up from defense.

If we lose this, I will have the mother of all meltdowns.
I am a little concerned we were ordinary fora fair bit last week. Just hope that we can get back to the form we were in.
Remember Richmond gt beat by gold coast before us so they ave not been in form. We need to be switched on this week

I dont think we were off last week for the most part. It was just a very high pressure match, and we used the ball really poorly going inside 50.

I expect this game is going to be scrappy, and played in our F50 for large periods of time. Melbourne will probably drop extra men back and try to force us wide, so it will be a good test for the midfield to see if they have learned anything.

We should win, but if we fail to hit targets again and kick poorly anything could happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Melbourne have set themselves for this game. They would love to derail our season. While I don't think North will let this happen, they need to get on top early. Agree with comments that north need to approach this game the same as when playing a top 8 team. I reckon Wells will tear them apart after being well held last week. North should have way to much fire power too. With a bit more composure going into the f50 then last week, should be a comfortable win.

Ive got pretty upset after football games before, but if we were to lose Saturday, I will hate life and consider moving to one of those poor, freezing, Russian villages where the women are ugly, the men don’t live past 38, and no one has heard of AFL for 4,000 km.
There is no such thing. The women are always good looking there, although they may need a makeover. ;)

Been there. Would happily go back again.....

Unavailable players Bartram, Jurrah, Maric and Newton kicked 9 of Melbournes 12 goals when we played them in round 8 of last season.

Azza kicked 6, Boomer and Wellsy 3, Lachie and Goldy 2 each.

Drew and LT went goalless.

Goldy was BOG with 26 touches and 30 hit outs.

Haha I have a feeling we will have similar discussion next week before the Dogs game!

We need to relax, kick back and enjoy the win against the Dees. I may be being complacent, but the boys won't be.

My favorite goal from 2011

Wright to Harper

Injury list of each club:

Tom Curran (foot) - season

Melbourne
Clint Bartram (knee) - season
Jamie Bennell (knee) - season
Mitch Clark (foot) - season
Aaron Davey (foot) - season
Max Gawn (knee) - season
Mark Jamar (calf) - 3 weeks
Liam Jurrah (ankle) - 2 weeks
Kelvin Lawrence (calf) - test
Jordie McKenzie (groin) - test
Jai Sheahan (ankle) - test
Luke Tapscott (groin) - test
Josh Tynan (concussion) - test

We'd want to beat them by 10 goals if they were full strength. Surely we'll break records with their list looking like that.

I hope the coach issues stern warnings that listed VFL players are pushing hard for positions in the side and that any drop in intensity will be quickly rectified at the selection table.

He hasn't shut up about that the last two weeks. Though I reckon that is much aimed at keeping the guys in the 2s playing hard in case there's an injury or suspension.
