Norths flag chances

Think it is a wait and see on North's chances for this year. We have to remember that freo were flying 9-0 last year as well and that didn't end nicely. However they're pretty much locked in for top 4 with 7-0 and if you're top 4 come the finals you have every chance.

You really want to compare the likes of kieran Jack, Luke Parker, lance Franklin an Sam Reid to whatever no names you had out?
Sam Reid, ****ing lol.

I'm waiting and seeing on us as well.

We are playing completely different footy to last year, which is encouraging.

I honestly think we've turned into one of the best 2-way running sides in the league (if not the best) the side hasn't completely gelled for 4 qtrs yet, but for the first time in years, it looks like every single player is working within a system they all understand. Playing as well defensively as I've seen under Scott.

We have a hard draw remaining, yes, but we've also beaten 3/5 double up sides once already. We still have Essendon, Carlton, Richmond, Port and Collingwood to play, we play GWS at home, and I'm not sure even the most anti-North posters can claim we will get rolled in every one of the Hawks, Cats, Swans x 2, Bulldogs in the run home, I think we will be at least 50% in these games.

I did the ladder predictor before:

Geelong 1st on 18 wins
North 2nd on 17
Sydney 3rd on 17
Adelaide 4th on 17
Hawks 5th on 17
Giants 6th (1 win outside the top 4)
Dog's 7th
WC 8th.

With Melbourne (2 wins outside the 8), Port and St Kilda finishing 9th, 10th & 11th.

North vs Sydney final.
Geelong vs Adelaide final.

I had Sydney and Geelong winning, Adelaide winning the prelim vs Sydney at the SCG and North beating Geelong at the MCG, North vs Adelaide GF.

North second on 17

Dog's 7th

I had Sydney and Adelaide both winning, Adelaide winning the prelim vs Sydney at AO and North beating Geelong at the MCG, North vs Adelaide GF.
How could you have Adelaide beating Sydney if they wouldn't even meet in the prelim? Swans would have a home final against geelong

Ladder predictor had the home finals wrong etc, edited it.

They meet in the prelim if Adelaide lose to Geelong in QF, beat Hawthorn in the SF at AO in, then win at SCG/Homebush in the prelim.

Based on 2,000 simulations. The model struggles to deal with how far Freo have fallen and GCS in recent weeks however so in my opinion, those positions are overstated. However, the top 8 is pretty much set with Adelaide or Port Adelaide likely to get the 8th spot.

I'm a Cats fan but find it utterly ridiculous how little North are being rated.

I think personally that the two best teams in the comp IF they play their best are Geelong and Sydney, but their best isn't necessarily sustainable for 100 minutes a week, and the way North simply grind their opponents away week after week is awesome. You should be proud of your team - I love that they are just always there and thereabouts.

Against them are factors like Fremantle last year - after 7 rounds who DIDN'T think they were clear flag favourites - look at where that got them - but on the flipside they were a team who had perennialy underachieved in finals. North have already shown for 2 years running that if anything, they get better in the post-season.

Just get rid of Thomas and then I can be truly happy for you.
Get rid of Mackie and i will love your boys too. Bartel still a champion.

We should be 9-0 with Essendon and Carlton in the next two.

However after that it's Sydney twice, Hawthorn twice, West Coast away, Adelaide away, GWS, Geelong and Bulldogs again in the last 13.

Fair enough that

As long as we avoid your mob in the finals I like our chances
Don't get me wrong Hawthorn are a great side and would deservedly go in favorites, but theu dont hold any great fear for me.
Key for North will be avoiding away finals. Do that and theyre every chance.
