Not good enough

We're still in a good position at 7-3, but I was very disappointed with the loss today. Definitely not Top 4 material on that performance.

We really missed Scott Thompson... Brisbane's midfield was far too strong.

Better players:

White was solid in the ruck, and clearly our best player. Should take out the Bluey this year.

McDonald fought hard, as did Heff.

Vardy was OK up forward, and Davey continued to chase.

Armstrong was average to fair.

Negatives:

Holland is ****! Has to be dropped for the Freo game. He may be big but he is a horrible player. A waste of pick 20.

TJ - has to lift. Might be dropped... I'd give him ONE more chance.

Read is a very ordinary footballer. Should be dropped.

Rivers, Wheatley and Whelan put in shockers but they've been good this year, so I'll let them off the hook.

Holland sucks.

We need a couple of big bodied midfielders. Taking McLean over Tenace is looking better by the day. Players such as Yze, Heffernan and Armstrong all had reasonable days, but were pushed aside too easily by the Lions midfield.

Did I mention Holland is ****?

broady took his spot and did a good job but he still could have not missed basically the whole 2nd half

vardy definatly should be kept in the team

really missed green and thomo who have been our 2 best midfielders

we were killed in the middle

Unacountable, undisciplined. As bad as the loss to Hawthorn was this was worse. We recieved a lesson I hope we were paying attention!

I wouldn't be putting Armstrong in the positives column.

Wheatley was excellent, i'll excuse his two last quarter clangers.

I thoght Whelan was pretty good today.

Neitz was good on the odd occasions it was kicked to him.

Vards, Robbo & Miller showed that they do pretty well if given some good delivery.

Macca got stuck in & White was ok.

Broady showed a bit but the rest were pathetic.

We have to fight back just like after Round 1, a few of the passengers today cannot play any worse.

I want a BOG from McLean in the Sandy 1's, before I'd replace him with Godders just yet. McLean's not quite 100% fit just yet either.

Such a dissapointing game, by the dees. Danners better make some changes. TJ is too soft, though there are others that are just as bad. Green and Thommo back next week, hopfully we can get back some form. Disgracful boys, very disapointing after such a great start to the season.

Of course it was a hard game & nobody wins every week but the way we went about it today disappointed me.

So unaccountable early, too arrogant to chase or pick up a man.

We lacked hardness at the ball & stuffed around with it early on, these are thing we can control & reverse. However until you acknowledge a problem nothing gets done about it.

Overall we've been good this season, i'll take 8/10 weeks anytime. We were poor today but after round 1 we were quite rightly bagged & turned it around, we'll have to do the same thing again this time too.

Not all doom & gloom but today we were poor against a very strong team.

Pretty disappointing effort really. And I mean effort in the fact that it didn't seem like we tried that hard. Particularly in the packs. What the game highlighted to me though is just how friggin good Brisbane is. They were in complete control and just dominated every situation. They always seem to get a handball away to someone when they get tackled and it they just got numbers to the ball all the time. It also helps when the umps are hopeless.

Lucky I couldn't watch the match live.

I thought before the match, how could Brisbane win when they have some many KPP players out and unfit? But I've now realised why they are a champion team (not that I didn't know it already). Players like Pike and Notting and White and Hart can step up and then there is always the guys like Voss, Aker, Black, Power, Leppitsch, Michael and Lappin who will kill you.

Lets move on to next week. We are still second so that's a positive. Tough road trip BUT I'M CONFIDENT!

Peoplez don't be too disappointed, brisbane are a top 2 side. They have awesome depth and it has displayed today that melbourne need there best 22 on the field to be competitive against top 2. We really missed thompson he has been great at centre clearances and his hard ball gets are fantastic. Green... well he has been our best player this season. I liked Vardy today and think he played well last week, white was good again but i think the dees were a little unlucky. There was two goals there shouldve never been given, 1 after the siren and 1 that hit the goal umpire (post). This said we still wouldn't of won.
I seriously think sylvia shouldn't of got dropped we couldve used him today, but don't put read down he is fantastic. He stands up for all the melbourne midfielders when needed and although his kicking stills aren't great he can get the hard ball. Bizz out really hurts us, as i think he was our best player last year.
At the end of the day the next 5 games are really going to tell us where we are at.

Have to agree Holland should be dropped done crap all

Trav I know some people have been unhappy with his performance but I think ND should give him the whole game in the midfield instead he is on and off the ground.

Our midfield was soft soft soft we all know how we like to play we run hard straight up the middle we try to play the center as much as we can which is good. But bris shout us down today and we wouldn't man up there players. But we leave lt to Mcdonald,Godfrey to get all our hard ball gets But Heff some grunt today whch was great.

But still second on the ladder so If someone told me that at the start of the year we all would have taken it. So lets get a win next week.
