His highest tackle count for the year was 35, which he hit 3 times in the opening 10 rounds. After round 10, he only got above 30 tackles in a game on 2-3 occasions.

Averages low to mid 20's for tackles this season since round 10.

Depends, I've missed GF's before to be honest. Then again all 3 of the realistic options (top 3) can't stand all 3 sides really. Hopefully this is the last year of Penrith being up there for a while, used to like them. Look sure sides at full strength is great, but if JWH goes kamikazze it's fun to watch at least, him and Victor I love watching, Melbourne do have Nelso who is just as bad.

No arguments that locks link things together. I just don't agree he's anywhere near as important to them as Yeo/Murray are to their respective teams. Simply because he's just not anywhere near as good.

Both games are 50/50.

Not sure how you can give any team the edge really.


Manly - stole the game late, can attack from anywhere. They are a lucky to be there and play risky. But they made it.

Roosters - they still have a great team on paper and could get it done on the day but are not proven with their combinations.

Sharks - have proven enough when they are firing they can get on a roll, but Storm destroyed them. How do they bounce back? Unpredictable.

Cows - Great squad, in form but struggle away from Townsville. Will they lift another gear?

I think they’re almost a complete confidence team. If they get it going early it all clicks and those suspect defensive spots stick tackles but if it doesn’t it can go baaaaadly wrong quickly.

Only reason I think they have a snowballs against Penrith is because they can just get rolling (it is still a snowballs)

If Penrith and Melbourne are the two best sides by a distance (and I agree they are), then surely it's only right to expect them to be in the GF, and the other games are just a stepping-stone to that? And both the Raiders and Newcastle are poor sides, so regretting them not making it seems bizarre to me.

I keep saying that we're experiencing the most boring foreplay of all time leading up to Storm vs Panthers. We're seeing that destiny with dangerous teams either not making finals at all (the Raiders) or stinking it up last week when they had the chance (screw you Newcastle.)

So with that being the case, the most boring results possible are just the top 2 seeds going through and we'll get the top 4 in the reverse qualifying finals.

In what world are the Raiders considered a dangerous team? They were 3rd last for points scored...

They beat the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the last 3 weeks of the season. Of course they were dangerous if they made the finals, any suggestions otherwise demonstrates either a shitty memory, or that you don't actually watch rugby league.



You've read a hell of a lot of things into my post that I didn't actually say.

Ahhh yes, they beat the Roosters the day they lost both their star 5/8th and hooker and caught Penrith a bit underdone when they had Brad Schneider lining up at halfback.

I absolutely promise you I see a lot more rugby league than you. Absolutely no one else thinks Canberra would have done anything had they even snuck into the finals.

As you like looking at past results, look back just a week or two earlier when they got smoked by Manly at home or lost to the Dogs. They also lost to Newcastle and the Cowboys since round 15 (not even mentioning getting belted by the Tigers in that time as well).

Canberra were incredibly lucky to beat Saints to even get the chance for finals. Corey's freakish kick and score was something not even Corey imagined. I doubt they would've done much damage.

Canberra have forever had late runs in seasons usually landing around 7 - 10th spot. Nothing new.

To me I think that's a penalty try all day long, but that absolutely does not meet the threshold that NRL refs have set over the last 28 weeks with the Cowboys five-eighth lurking.

I think it's probably negligible whether you'd rather the sin bin or the penalty try anyway, the current interpretation where the penalty try is the greater penalty is very a "bird in the hand" argument. Which is fine, but I don't think that every NRL coach would agree with it.
