One of many pests that I can’t wait to see the back of!
I know right. SainterinSydney is the worst. Comes in here constantly stressing about what is happening, but remains polite and acts all nice. Then goes back to his own board and mocks us to no end.
Hot tip, we don’t care what you guys think in the slightest. Not reaching North fan deluded and crazy levels yet, but getting close!

At least his delusions are entertaining. DT just laugh emojis at most posts as he is a tosser!

as the Saints want Aleer & TDK. All we have to do is find out what Carlton Want .. and what GWS want and then do the deal

What Carlton want is 100% irrelevant.

TDK is a Restricted Free Agent in this Trade Period.

I suggest that you read up on what RFA is. You might then understand why St Kilda have offered a contract that Carlton cannot match. If they do not match, he cannot be traded for. What Carlton want trade wise is therefore irrelevant, as there will be no trade for TDK. He will swap clubs as a RFA.

With Aleer, you also overate his trade cost. He is a fringe player at GWS, his trade cost will not be high.

Now yes, ID Nas selects PA to go to, other Clubs could be part of the deal. But whether the are or not PA will have to give up substantial trade value. You will have to find a Club, or Clubs, with low enough first round picks and to get those picks you will have to give up a lot of Trade Capital and or quality players.

Aleer could be part of a multi club deal to get Nas to PA, but if so he would be a very minor part of it.

PA do not have the pick value for a Nas Trade, so you are going to pony up a Gun to trade to someone.

PA' bigger concern will be the Crows. Players of Nas's talent if the swap clubs go to Clubs in contention. Crows are in the window. Port will be rebuilding.

Obviously all footballers want success, they want to play in finals and lift the cup but I think above all of that they want to be playing good footy and making good money.

They might say In front of the cameras that team success is above individual success and money, to a certain extent that is right but if you go from being a back to back all Australian to struggling to keep your spot in a team, but you are going to play finals on better money it would be a real mixed bag of emotions.

Anyone suggesting that Dan Houston is laughing right now is kidding themself, he would be hugely disappointed with the drop in his form and overall importance to the team. Yes the team success and money will help ease all that but it’s not all rainbows.

it’s also why I’m worried NWM will stay because he is playing the most amazing footy this year, there are no guarantees that will continue elsewhere.

Guys stop quoting stuff St Kilda supporters are saying on their board here. Leave it there.

Every trade period people do the same annoying crap.

"Oh this guy on this board wants a billion 1st rounders"

"Ha! Delusional!!!"

Carlton would want points for their FS in Harry Dean who is shaping to be a top 10 pick.

The compo pick will be pick 7 as of right now which will be pushed back after GC, Lions and Swans make their bids on their respective academy players.

That means Carlton will need to offload their compo pick for Harry Dean.

You’re very naive if you think Giants will set a low price for Aleer. They will no doubt ask for a first rounder and the Saints will say no and haggle it out. Giants aren’t going to accept a mid 2nd to early 3rd rounder for Aleer and it’s all rainbows and roses.

Saints are desperate for KPD depth and the draft crop this year doesn’t have many stand out tall defenders and KPP don’t grow on trees. Not to mention they have offered Aleer a four year deal on decent coin.

That alone would tell Giants that Saints value Aleer highly enough to offer him that deal and are going to ask to give something decent back. That is simply how trades work. You can’t expect the Giants to hand Aleer to the Saints on a silver platter and get something little in return now do you?

Again, do you seriously believe the Giants will happily trade Aleer cheaply?
PA do not have the pick value for a Nas Trade, so you are going to pony up a Gun to trade to someone.
If Nas nominates Port and Port offers 2 x 1st rounders along with some pick swaps as the centrepiece of the deal and Saints rejects it, Saints walks away empty handed AND lose their best player for nothing. I can’t imagine it would bore well for everyone at the club including supporters because you lost your best player and got nothing in return.

Nas goes to the PSD and no doubt he would be concerned, however history has shown that whenever this happens, the player will generally get to their club of choice in the end.

I can only recall one instance where a player nominated their club of choice only for him to get picked up by another club and that player was Nick Stevens who requested a trade to Collingwood in 2003 and Port refused to trade him to Collingwood and he got picked up by the Blues.

Another case was Luke Ball entering the national draft after your mob and Collingwood failed to facilitate a deal during the trade period. However, he got to Collingwood in the end in the second round of the draft and you guys walked away with nothing.

Now there is every risk the other clubs that finished below Port could take him, however, history would suggest more often than not, the player will get to their preferred club in the end as other clubs would not want to deal with the baggage that comes with it in this day and age.

This is a bit of a fallacy. Because one club is performing better than the other club, suddenly it only makes sense the player should nominate the better performing club.

That argument falls flat because Jordan Dawson requested a trade back to SA and guess which team he selected despite them finishing much lower than Port? Let me give you a hint, starts with an “A” and there’s only two AFL clubs in SA.

You can add Izak Rankine to the equation as well, he requested a trade back home and to the same club as Jordan Dawson.

Now look how long it took for the other mob to “rebuild”?

I rest my case.

At the end of the day the Saints posters (and some Port) think that if NWM does not re-sign and then nominates Port that they are in the drivers seat and we have to arbitrarily meet whatever price they set. That is their first and main error because it doesn't work that way.

As soon as that happens the game changes entirely and really everything else is just white noise.

It is amazing that no matter how many times this gets proven each and every trade period, the slow horses on Big Footy and in the media keep arguing the opposite every year.

I had to check twice if this was a REH post.

Irrelevant to StKilda as TDK is a Free Agent and so we will not need to give them picks or players.

Again no relevance to St Kilda in a deal for Nas.

Suggest you review the past St Kilda GWS trades of Steele and Bruce who were both playing more first football that Aleer has been.

No Club will trade a first round pick for a fringe player which Aleer is. If GWS ask for too much then he stays at GWS. However GWS have a very good history of being fair traders.

Simply put, yes he is not going fora 1st Round. And if he was in your imagined threeway PA would have to stump up that pick.

If Nas nominates Port and Port offers 2 x 1st rounders
You do not have these, and do not include 2027 as Tassie coming in will greatly diminish pick value in those years.

Besides St Kilda is looking to be contending by 2027...so a extra draftee from that year is useless for that goal.

Ball had also been carrying injuries for some time and point blank refused to do a medical with an club bar Collingwood. At the time he left he was not the player he was earlier in his career. Pies got his body better.

You are not going to get Nas for a Bag of Chips.

Nas in the form he is in is a lot juicer acquisition that a injury hampered Ball was at the time. North and Tigers would both grab him.

His boyhood Club who gave a late first rounder for him.

Glad you raised Jordan Dawson. He was a good first 22 player at the Swans at the time of drafting and was traded for a first round selection in the NAB AFL Draft (tied to the Melbourne Football Club) and so was traded for a late first round pick. Dawson at the time of trading is much better player than Aleer has been this year.

Aleer is a fringe player, and so will go for less.

despite them finishing much lower than Port? Let me give you a hint, starts with an “A” and there’s only two AFL clubs in SA.
Yes he chose the Club on the rise and who have rebuilt very well over a period of time. Congrats Jordan for choosing well.

You can add Izak Rankine to the equation as well, he requested a trade back home and to the same club as Jordan Dawson.

You better re-open that case as your logic is based on poor assumptions.

Besides if PA try and lowball, Crows will most likely be a lot more willing. However, they like PA will only land Nas if they sacrifice a gun to St Kilda, or to another Club to get better draft picks.

He just had 36 and 2.2 vs Geelong, 43 against Hawthorn, 35 against coll.

Deary me…
Lost by 31 against Geelong.

Lost by 20 against Hawthorn.

Lost by 34 against Collingwood.

Looks like they didn't really care about NWM running racking up touches.

I mean Geelong and Hawthorn actually sent taggers after Butters. To try and stop him getting lots of possessions.

In all fairness no individual is going to carry a club.

The game is to make the players around you better.

At Saint Kilda that’s a tough gig.

Jordan Dawson finished 3rd in Sydney’s best and fairest the year that he was traded to Adelaide. They traded the latter of two first rounders they had for him that year because they had Sydney over a barrel due to the psd threat. He was worth more than Sydney got for him. Ask their supporters if they were happy with the trade return.

In reality I have no idea if nas wants a trade to port, and if he does I realise that the trade will have to be a significant one to get the deal done. Port has a history of working with other clubs to make deals that work for a number of parties though, so if it gets to that point it will happen.

2 minutes or so in.

Regarding Hawthorn on Nas, not here to talk what he’s worth - can see why Saints are keen to keep him and Port would badly want him

the annual ‘fans making trade demands like they have any say in anything’ season starts earlier and earlier each year

At least they’re closer to the ‘acceptance’ stage of the grief cycle.

Think they are realising there’s 5 things pointing to him wanting to leave for every 1 thing there is pointing to him staying.

lol. Sam Mitchell sent 4 different blokes to him and said he’s Un-taggable in his post-game interview. Whoops
