Cameron White averages a more than acceptable 35 at ODI level at a SR of 80 and 2 hundreds.

FFS I wish people would stop hating on some of these guys for no good reason.
What do you mean no good reason? I think i have a perfectly good reason, the fact that hes an absolute spud. In 87 ODI's, 2 century's is by no means outstanding. He lost form and lost it quickly, then stayed in the side for a long period after that happened. Everyone knows he's a nugget and a shit bloke to boot.

Do you have a potato fetish? :p

Mike Hussey made three hundreds in 185 ODIs. I guess he must be a spud then...

The White hate is a funny situation. His performances for Australia in ODI cricket have been pretty good yet that is where most of the hate comes from (or at least it seems that way). I admit, I have become fairly anti-White, but that is based on his poor performances over the last two seasons for Victoria. His ability to throw his wicket away just when he is looking good is uncanny. He should have stepped down from the Vic captaincy at the end of last season. He did score a few runs in the last couple of games in the Shield before the BBL though so hopefully that was the start of him turning it around.

Clarkes only got 7 tons in ODI's. Its not the point. Huss and Clarke are like avacado's, no carbs, high protein. There at the top of the vegetable food chart. You answered yourself why we all think White is a lemon, he throws his wicket away. Hes not worthy of a spot in any form of australian cricket and the selectors backed that idea up.

Huss batted at 5 or 6 in ODI's, if he batted top 4 it would be comparable.

It is the point when that was the logic you used to define him a spud.

I said he has thrown his wicket away the last two seasons with the Vics, he did not do that when he was in the Aus ODI side.

Of course he isn't, I never said he is (I actually said I am relatively anti-White). That's not the point.

Im not sure why your trying to argue, it seems a lot of BF regulars "disagree" about things they completely agree on...

It's too late to dig up stats. But i came to the conclusion, at the end of his international career he was a fully grown spud and was growing mold by the end of his tenure. Statistics could prove me wrong, his average is infacat servicable as you say but as we can both agree, now, he is an absolute spud.

I think we're on the same page, although I'll steer clear of the term 'spud'. He was once a very good player, he is now a very ordinary player. I do think he has the potential to become a very good domestic player again.

Do you intend on using every post to state whether player x is a spud or not? :D

We will call him a spanner then :)

Only where warranted. I could sit here and write rave reviews about Hussey's career and Clarke's outstanding year with the bat, but thats not really entertaining. We've just finished the test series and the only addition to that list of non-spuds is P.S the great.

But this is the ODI thread, so i wont rant on about where i see that the test side is at as much as id love too. In answer to your question, Yes. Im here to talk 'tatoes ;)

Your taking the piss surely? SPUD. I do like him, well i did. He'll be relegated back to the portugese potato farm he got recruited from. Hasnt done anything of late to warrant a call up.

1. How does Clint McKay get a run? Been in awful form.

2. What is this love for George rucking Bailey? Not a century to his name, a poor average but he's captain.

So what are the noteable omissions

Clarke, Watson, Wade, Hussey, Warner

Anyone else im forgetting ?

I don't really wanna see Maxwell stuck into the old Smith "be a x-factor!!!" role either. I mean, he'd be better at it than Smith, but it's just a shitty role. Really, I think it's easy enough to stick Haddin there and bat whichever one of Smith/Maxwell plays up to at least 6, maybe 5.

Stick Johnson there while he is in the team. Would make far more sense than doing it at test level as he is one of the few who is comfortable at hitting out after facing a few balls.

George Bailey(capt), How this guy is captain i have no idea. Huge spud. 13 matches without a century to his name. Average of 40 i can deal with but captain, really?
Phillip Hughes, On ya Hughesey, likely inclusion.
Usman Khawaja, Like how he go's about it, good to see him get a look in even if its an ODI
Aaron Finch, FINCHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
David Hussey, HUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Brad Haddin (wk), HADDSSSSSYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Glenn Maxwell, SPUD! good ave. but very annoying to watch domestically. will surely crumble against a good attack.
Steven Smith, Spud smith needs to hit puberty then come back and have a go.
Mitchell Johnson, Dirty leaky spud. Good when on but go's missing far too often. That run up shits me to tears.
Ben Cutting, Dont know much about him, Another young fast bowler. Prob get injured.
Mitchell Starc, Leaky, but has potential.
Clint McKay, Leaky and spud like hes victorian so gets the benefit of the doubt.
Xavier Doherty. Spud. I like old doh dog but you cant fight fate. Spud.

5 confirmed spuds and 1 on the verge of potato territory. Luckily its against the spud lankans but anything can happen against W.I so could be a tough summer.

In all seriousness, how old are you? If you are under 13, continue on. Over and you're an imbecile for this and all your later posts. You may have a point to make but I can tell you it's getting lost in your spud fetish.

Cheers

Ryobi Cup:
Paine - 100 runs at 20
Haddin - 88 runs at 22

Big Bash:
Paine - 237 runs at 40
Haddin - 170 runs at 28

Given their respective ages as well, I don't see any possible reason that Haddin should be in ahead of Paine.

I thought we'd finally got rid of all the old cancers in the locker room. I can't believe they've let Haddin back in.
