1. Shane Watson
2. Aaron Finch
3. Matthew Wade (wk)
4. Michael Clarke (c)
5. Callum Ferguson
6. Michael Hussey
7. Moises Henriques / Glenn Maxwell (depends whether spinner/seam needed)
8/9/10. James Pattinson / Clint McKay / Pat Cummins / Ben Cutting / Mitchell Starc / Nathan Coulter Nile / Alastair McDermott / Gary Putland
11. Nathan Lyon
Ferguson looked the goods a few years ago but hasn't done anything since,
apart from being Mark Waughs love child Henriques, what on earth has this guy done, maxwell hasnt been round half as long but at least starting to deliver, henriques has done squat

Wade
Warner
Finch
Clarke
Hussey
Watson
Maxwell
McKay
Cutting
Starc
Cummins (To hope..)

Maxwell is rightfully the next D. Huss and Watson just can't get going at this point in the summer, so if he bats at 6 atleast he can slog it out rather than fail to build an innings as he has been.

Watson is a waste down there in the ODI, he has a very good record in opening for Aus so no need to move him down the order.

You'd imagine that, with Watto injured and Clarke due a rest, Bailey will probably captain some ODI's this summer.

Most likely and at the expense of Finch, he is already keeping him out of the T20i side despite his great record in limited chances and domestic record

In all fairness Bailey deserves to be in or on the verge of being in the ODI side, he has a avg of 40 and a strike off 77 so he has had a good start to his career for Aus, Really the pressure should be on Warner he only avg 30 and for a top of an order player it should be better than that, But of course he is under no pressure cause most people love him.

If Finch isn't picked, given his limited overs form, it would be one of the worst decisions ever made. I don't see how they could ignore him.

Edit. Warner will almost definitely get a break at some time as well. He hasn't missed a game in any form in over a year.

Watson

Clarke (c)
Bailey
M.Hussey
Maxwell
Wade
Starc
Johnson

Doherty

Not a lot of love for Bailey, has been very good in ODI cricket thus far (probably better than in his T20 role) Quicks will get rotated. Christian, Cutting I imagine will crack games or be very close to it. D. Hussey and Finch would be the next two batsmen on my list.

Wade/Warner (Wade v SL then prepare for India while Warner plays Windies)
Finch
Clarke (when really 100% fit, otherwise Khawaja)
Bailey
Maxwell/Haddin
Mussey
Dussey
Johnson
McKay
Putland (NCN when he breaks down)
Beer/Hastings

Watson, Pattinson, Starc, Bird, Hughes and Lyon shouldn't go anywhere near a white ball in 2013.

haddin name should never be mentioned the an Australian team again, but wade cant play every game in all three forms of cricket, as it would be to much, so players such as luderman, peter nevill or tim paine,

Sounds like Clarke will be rested and Watson will miss the first section.

Bit surprised that Hughes isn't really being mentioned. He's second for runs scored this season and has a good record at state level. 2500 runs at 48. That's a long way ahead of Khawaja, for example.

With that in mind:

Warner
Hughes
Finch
Bailey
Hussey
Maxwell
Wade (will presumably open on occasion)
Johnson
Starc
McKay
Doherty

Khawaja
Coulter-Nile
Faulkner/Hastings

Naturally, Watson and Clarke will come straight back in when fit.

I really can't get into ODI cricket anymore, it doesn't have the tactics of Test cricket nor the entertainment value of T20, personally reckon that it was a fair comment that the 50 over game will die after the next world cup.

It has definitely become my least favourite form, yes.

Yeah, same here. It's a good format to introduce players to the international stage though, which is all these meaningless matches are used for these days.

Looks I like I stand alone in preferring ODIs over T20. I'm not anti T20 at all, I just get right into one day cricket. Find the 50 over contest more interesting. Would hate for it to die in the next few years.

They have become stale.

Australia wins toss
Australia bats
Australia makes fast start in the powerplay
Australia loses quick wickets
Spinners tie down Australia in the middle overs
Australia hit out successfully in the end

They are a bit repetitive when we bat first but I think that there are still more close finishes in ODIs than T20s. I don't even have a genuine reason why I prefer them, it's just a gut thing really.
