They have become stale.

Australia wins toss
Australia bats
Australia makes fast start in the powerplay
Australia loses quick wickets
Spinners tie down Australia in the middle overs
Australia hit out successfully in the end
Replace Australia with any other international side and it's pretty much how all of them play out these days. Besides the odd freakish games of course, like Watto's 185* (96) against Bangladesh with 15 4s and 15 6s...

50 over games are basically like T20s now, with the middle 30 overs quite dull and boring.

I really can't get into ODI cricket anymore, it doesn't have the tactics of Test cricket nor the entertainment value of T20, personally reckon that it was a fair comment that the 50 over game will die after the next world cup.
I'm a little bit like that. There only needs to be one limited overs form in my view. T20 fails to interest me, but what it has done is highlight the failings of 50 over cricket as well. Basically, I don't really get into either limited over format any more. I'll watch it if its on, but don't care about it much - the world cup still holds interest, and has been the only time limited overs has ever been important anyway.

Not a lot of love for Bailey, has been very good in ODI cricket thus far (probably better than in his T20 role)

That's just BF though. Guys gets picked as t20 captain when he didn't deserve so people hate him. Don't bother with the fact he was probably unlucky not to have got an ODI gig earlier and has been fine while in the side. With Hussey retiring he's probably the best player we have to take over the Bevan/Hussey role, it's not t20 we can't just load up on big hitters who often fail quickly as much as they destroy, you really want at least 2 blokes who can work the ball and keep a cool head and that's probably Clarke and Bailey going forward.

Teams imo:

Likely first game:

Warner
Finch
Bailey(c) will drop down with Watto and Clarke back
Dussey
Mussey
Maxwell
Wade
Hastings (selectors love him)
Johnson
Starc
Doherty

Best side:
Watson
Warner
Finch
Clarke
Bailey/Maxwell
Mussey
Wade
Johnson/Hastings
Starc
Pattinson
Doherty

Will likely see NCN, Lyon, Paine, Mckay, Smith and hopefully Faulkner at times.

No Putland love? Should hopefully crack a couple of games this Summer to get a taste of international cricket.

Why not just make a list of people you think shouldn't play. It'd be shorter!

I don't think Watson or Clarke should play, nor Mike Hussey.

My 15/16 man squad would be;

Warner
Hughes
Finch
Kahwaja
D.Hussey
S.Marsh
Lynn
Paine
O'Keefe
Maxwell
M.Johnson
Starc
K.Richardson
McDermott
Cutting
McKay

But your probably missing a skipper in that squad.

After doing research i'm going to completely disregard my previous post.

I think Hughes is definitely a contender this year. Honestly his average in List A is just below 50 with a good SR of 76, deserves a go.

Cutting, if anything, should be given a crack at Test level. 35 average in One Dayers? No thanks. Plus i'm pretty sure he was belted for 80-odd against Tasmania in the first half of the season.

Wade should stay keeper. Haddins form in Ryobi is nothing to reclaim his spot with Paines extremely overrated batting and injuries not something that should interfere with a developing keeper.

Putlands great form at the moment deserves attention - only problem being the rotation of the bowlers.

Oh and Xavier Doherty should never play ODI cricket again.

watching hughes play this season he has slowly grown me. he would be a good addition to the odi side, he will never take the attack like a warner, but would be a good attacking player and his record in all forms of cricket is rather impressive

After watching Wade during the tests, I'm not fussed by this, I'm quite happy for him to be in the ODI side still.
He hasn't actually made many runs in the Ryobi this year. I'm by no means Paine's biggest fan but in limited overs matches, I'd prefer he fill in than Haddin.
