Can't complain as 2012 fixture was on the easier side...

3 Friday night games is massive exposure for the club and HUGE :thumbsu::thumbsu:

We could play only Melb,GWS & GC in all 22 games and people on here would still manage to complain.

3 Friday, 9 Saturday, 9 Sunday, 1 TBA.

Not bad.

Plus we have the most 6 day breaks out of any club in th comp, demetriou you use to play for us you should still be looking after us lol.

In all honesty though our draw this year was pretty kind, our guess thats what u get for finishing 8th.

Wow!
Geelong, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Adelaide, Brisbane x 2
5 interstaters not including the 2 Tassie games.
No one can accuse us of having an easy draw next year :p

There are plenty of positives though.
Only 5 of our 11 home games on a Sunday this year, 3 of those against interstate teams seems to be an improvement.
Obviously 3 Friday nighters is great, about bloody time! And two of those home games against strong Vic teams (Geelong and Carlton) gives us a good platform to show off. You'd think that with this developement, we will get plenty of Friday nights when we begin to really contend and start challenging for top 4.
It's also nice to be able to see a Hawthorn game for once. It has felt like forever since we've got to see us play against one of our best rivals with an endless supply of Tassie games.
Another positive is getting Sydney at Blundstone seeing as they always destroy us at the SCG.
All in all, the AFL have obviously compensated for our piss easy draw this year, and it's up to us to take that next step again in our development. I would think that simply qualifying for finals again would be a fair pass mark with the obvious difficulty spike in comparison to 2012, and hopefully a decent effort in week 1 of the finals!

Our first 5 weeks are brutal collingwood, sydney, geelong, hawthorn and port (not as hard but no easybeat).

Plus no Harvey for these games, we are really going to learn alot about playing group early in the year and if they are good enough to match it with the best.

As a supporter Im excited and a bit nervous at the same time!!

Tough draw but I like it.

Three Friday nights, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Geelong twice, all big games.

Sydney in Hobart.

It's going to be testing but if we handle it well we're going to be much better placed for winning in September.

Bring it on!

Tough as fossilised shit from a football perspective, but decent enough from a financial perspective.

The boys do well then we make good $$$.

After this years draw the fixture is not unexpected.

13 games at etihad

2 at Blundstone

2 at the G, in front of what should be decent crowds.

3 Fridays

I don't fear the hard fixture, time for more boys to stand up and become men.

I think it is a ripper draw.
If you want to be the best you have to beat the best.
No point making the 8 if you have to beat soft opposition to get there. The fact that we have been given a "big boy draw" our boys must and will rise to the occasion. Perhaps really having something to fight for all along the way may just be the catalyst they need. Go Roos you are up to the task, now is your time to stand up and be one of the numbers
