Or cant he write articles that dont involve asking Adelaide who their daddy is or bagging Adelaide's skill level or how they are a very cheap and poor imitation of Port Adelaide.

Or maybe the real reason he didnt write too much in todays paper because
"HE COULDNT HANDLE THE TRUTH".

The boos said it all Rucci your credibilty and jouralistic integrity is at an all time low and you have gone from a reporter to a clown and I seriously wonder how long The Advertiser will continue to publish your personal rants. You look at Victoria with Mike Sheehan and Tim Lane and then look at Adelaide has to offer with Rucci its really quite laughable.

does everyone realise mr rucci doesn't use a tape recorder at media conferences, instead relying on short-hand? this leads to every rucci yarn containing inaccurate quotes.

exhibit A:
Stevo yesterday said: ""They obviously tried to talk me out of it. But I think it's in the best interests of myself and the club to do it now and save any heartache down the track".
This becomes in rucci's yarn as Stevo saying:"Mark tried to talk me out of it, but it is in the best interest of the club that I retire now and save it heartbreak down the track."

exhibit B:
Stevo said: "I was out on the track a couple of weeks ago and we were doing a little drill. It was a new drill we were trying out and I was doing it with all the young blokes, and they were really struggling. I didn't say a word. I just kept training and just let it go by without doing anything about it, and I knew then I was lacking the motivation and desire to keep going."
In rucci's yarn this becomes: "I really struggled with it but did not say a word. I knew then that I was lacking motivation to keep going."

these examples follow a concerning trend - that every story mr rucci writes, it has inaccurate quotes in it - EVERY story!!

Re: mr rucci's quotes

I picked up on exibit B as well. There was snipet of Stevo's press conference on the news last night and he said that they were doing this new drill and the younger boys really struggled but he didn't say anything and this morning I read it differently in Rucci's article.

It just proves that Rucci is a a sh*t stirrer rather than a journalist ;)

At best incompetent, at worst dishonest.

Re: mr rucci's quotes

Stevo: They obviously tried to talk me out of it. But I think it's in the best interests of myself and the club to do it now and save any heartache down the track.

Rucci: Stevens said, "Mark tried to talk, talk, talk. Most revealing is the fact that it is in the best interest of the club that I retire now and save it heartbreak to who's our daddy down the track."

Stevo: I was out on the track a couple of weeks ago and we were doing a little drill. It was a new drill we were trying out and I was doing it with all the young blokes, and they were really struggling. I didn't say a word. I just kept training and just let it go by without doing anything about it, and I knew then I was lacking the motivation and desire to keep going.

Rucci: Stevens said, "Most telling was that I really struggled with it but did not talk, talk, talk. It revealed that I was lacking motivation to keep calling an incompetent journalist a ferrethead. And Mark Williams is a great coach and Alan Scott was wrong."

I recall Rucci having a go at some parts of the media for negative comments made before Byron Pickett's actual hearing took place in the Wizard Cup. He said that players should not have to go through 'Trial By Media' before their case is heard.

If anyone is interested, just have a look at today's Advertiser for the most hypocritical piece of journalism ever.

Rucci has one rule for his club & another for the rest the league.

Pretty much Noddy and we all know it so what is the point of going over it again.

PS You would be happy with both results in the two sports played overnight

The pen is mightier than the sword, Rucci claimed on the radio a couple of weeks back , maybe Rucci should take his hand off his "pen is" sometimes.

What do you expect its Rucci. I am sure that he is like some of the Port supporters we have seen over the past few days you know those people that sooked and called the tribunal racist with Pickett's suspensions and have questioned the stance by the AFL over what they are suspending have suddenly now done a 180 and are now 100 behind Ruccuito being suspended as long as possible. Which proves that most of their so called opinions about the tribunal are based solely around whether it involves a Port Adelaide player and that it was all just a sook about Pickett as to why they were all complaining especially after reading many of these people making comments on the incident.

There were some facts wrong in his piece of garbage this morning.

1. Pickett was offered a one match ban which was rejected and he was given two match ban by the tribunal. He claims that Pickett was offered two games and rejected it and went to the tribunal.

2. Selwood's jaw was not broken, it was only speculated but typically Rucci claimed speculation as fact once again.

Re: More Rucci hypocrisy...

apart from giving it alot of publicity which it didnt need, didnt think that he actually was too bad today. He didnt go and bat for him either though like he did with pickett though. Completely different incidents and you could make a case to for roo to get off which he chose not to do. He gave it his best shot with pickett though.

Yeah got to love the distortion of the facts. Also love the fact the article got a double page spread. Can his 'Crow-hatred' be any more obvious ?

Re: More Rucci hypocrisy...

I wouldn't get to worked up about Rucci.

His pre-season predictions about the Crows have gone to shyte, so he needs to find whatever means to try & get at Crows' supporters.

Best to ignore him.

Exactly I have given up on the paper...dont see the point reading trash. What is alarming though is that often reports written online (As The Crows Fly is one example and other posters on BigFooty) by supporters are often 10x more accurate, are actually quality work and are much more interesting to read. Not to mention you dont have to pay for the newspaper. :)

An interesting question though is has he allways been this bad (not sure how long he has been writing for the Advertiser), in that information can often be found in his writing that is either inaccurate or not confirmed?

Re: More Rucci hypocrisy...

Not sure why those other incidents were highlighted, as in almost all of them they were entirely different circumstances with players being hit with their heads over the ball and not in posession, or being being shirtfronted whilst pursuing the ball carrier. Selwood had the ball, should be free kick and a 50 maybe, no more.

Re: More Rucci hypocrisy...

Just shows how "in the know" he is. He states in the Sunday Mail - the day after the top 4 had been finalised - that:

"The Crows will play Sydney in the qualifying final no earlier than Saturday."

What an idiot?

Even if his articles are biased towards Port, he should at least get his facts corret when making general AFL comments!

Re: More Rucci hypocrisy...

I knew I was in for a crap edition of the footy guide this morning when I read the front page of it. Scroll down the linky to see the page http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/

has one moment of madness cost Roo a chance to live this dream

My first thought was - should'nt there be a question mark at the end of that sentence? How bad is that?
