Off topic but your user name has a certain ring to it. :)

you are very kind, noddy, too kind really. I almost feel like i'm not worthy. And what kind of ring? a heavenly ring perhaps>? Or is that stretching it a little far.

I knew I was in for a crap edition of the footy guide this morning when I read the front page of it. Scroll down the linky to see the page http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/

has one moment of madness cost Roo a chance to live this dream

My first thought was - should'nt there be a question mark at the end of that sentence? How bad is that?

rucci doesnt write the headings or front pages remember, so he cant be held accountable for them at all.

He has lost all pretence of credibility.

I just love the fact he will be hurting so much at the moment :D

Wouldn't he just!! :)

It's a far cry from the days of his shoddy article after our narrow first round loss to WCE titled "Time to tell the truth".

Strangely enough - he never has!! :D

Re: More Rucci hypocrisy...

My favourite part of Rucci's case for giving Roo at least two was this comment (in emphasis):

"That Ricciuto had his feet off the ground, was late in the contest, made high contact..."

Was late in the contest? Was late in the contest?

The enlarged image of the exact moment of impact shows the ball being held in Selwood's two hands. As the play was ongoing - we all know Selwood didn't mark it, nor had the umpire whistled for holding the ball or a ball-up - how the hell is it an offence for Ricciuto to be "late in the contest"?

Has the AFL secretly implemented a new 'one-on-one rule' that only you know about Rooch? Or did you honestly expect Roo to just stand off like a seagull waiting for the ball to spill out of the tackle? Perhaps you thought you were witnessing a game of netball and believed Ricciuto couldn't cross into the zone Van Berlo and Selwood were inhabiting?

Gee whiz...

Well done. Funnily enough, those are the exact arguments Rucci would use if it was Pickett who did the bumping.

No, but he is responsible for everything that appears underneath those headings ...
BTW, who should be held accountable, then?
Some other incompetent f..wit?

sorry it was a little tongue in cheek. I totally agree, but this is a common defense that himself and Mr Cornes often use when the story/headings stray from the truth or are blatantly wrong. He didnt actually write the heading that just happens to be related to his story so he cant be held responsible.

A good example was last yr, when it was reported that carey had two weeks to improve his form or get the chop, but when it was denied and it came time for Mr Rucci to reveal his phone call he had with bill sanders i think it was from memory, it was actually 'a couple of weeks' in brackets, so it was his interpretation, not what was actually said in the phone call. Its typical in trying to read something into a situation when its clearly not there. A common condition i have found with alot of the poorer journalists that i keep company with.

Yep, jack's back.

Yes responding to noddy, hes your favourite poster isnt he from memory, john>? Astute and wise, just like me. Good to see you are criticising the right poster this time too john, not a 15yr old kid. Did you ever apologise to him actually? poor guy, just trying to get a go on the port board is hard enough isn’t it? ;)

Cant wait for the next 'piece' either....be sure to post a copy on here.

So, name names then .....

i wouldnt be that rude RR. I have yet to witness any quality journalism from adelaide though. There was a very good piece written by a Victorian journalist making predictions at where we are at and where we are going at the start of the yr. It was very sensible and logical. It was posted on here, don’t remember his name though. There has been quite a few good ones that raise nice points actually. :)

Another quality post, jack.

Diverting the topic to you. You never fail me.
You are my favourite poster, jack.

And the 15yo? You think we are that stupid?

jack, name one journalist you have ever spoken to.

Or even better, name one journalist who has ever spoken to you.

"... keep company with!"

For goodness sake, your fantasies grow by the second.

Re: More Rucci hypocrisy...

Just for the latest serve of innacurate Rucci articles - does he ever get anything factually correct?

Under his latest little piece of Port propoganda titled "Power surge' in today's 'tiser, there is a chart showing the Win/Loss record of all the 8 finalists for the last 6 games of the minor round.

Adelaide have won their last 10 games, as everyone including Billy the goose and KG knows, with the obvious exception of our roving reporter Rooch, who listed Adelaide as being 5W and 1L for the past 6 games.

Just for the record, the Surgers have a 4W 2L record over the last 6 games, 4th behind Adelaide, Sydney and St Kilda.

Woo fkg Hoo Rooch!!

Oh boy :D

It just amazes me how incompetent he is and he happens to be a Head football journalist in this state.

Just read the article, the error is so obvious. How can this man keep his job, perhaps he has some incriminating photos of someone.
Seriously is it the fact the Advertiser doesn't have any competition that it continues to employ these poor quality journalists.
If there was an alternative paper the Advertiser would be forced to "take a good hard look at its self".

Well he is not doing a good job even pretending!

Forgive poor Rooch for his poor journalism, as his brain is probably exploding under the pressure of the Crows performing well & throwing all his predictions down the gurgler. There is not much you can criticise the Crows in the way our performances, so he is struggling to come up with something ... so he just bends the facts a little. ;)

Rucci rewrites 2005 AFL history!

In comparing Port to the form of the top 8 over the last 6 rounds, we have the following:

1. Adelaide WON: 5 LOST: 1

Interesting how a team who has won 10 in a row now has only won 5 of their last 6?

How the hell did he f##k that one up? Seriously, it's not even a difficult statistic. The only thing I can think is that it was on purpose.

I also found it fascinating that Richard Earle (don't Port supporters say he's 'pro-Crows'? ) showed our potential 'match-ups' against St Kilda's midfield and the comments below were all about how our midfielders would struggle against St Kilda's gun midfielders.

Yet on the other side of the page, the Port-Kangaroos comparison was all about how Port would dominate the Kangaroos...

Sorry, who called this newspaper pro-Crows?

I too noticed this little box of supposed statistics and read and re-read the heading to make sure it wasn't some other sort of data....

But no, Rucci had actually again demonstrated his incompetence... however i was somewhat not surprised

That one loss must have been the Port game. The one where Port worked out how to beat us. :D
