Good to see Juice rewarded for his good form.
From the interchange, I'd like to see Bell, Newton and Valenti in, and either White (if we try to stretch them with height) or, dare I say it, Bode for an extra runner.

What are our thoughts re our chances?
I think Dogs by about 6 goals.

What if Big Will played up forward?

And Garland can play tall and small...
Warnock will need an opponent, you can't be sending him to a Brad Johnson, it would be bedlam.

All the other Dogs forwards are smaller types, bar perhaps Mitch Hahn but CJ showed with his job on Ryan O'Keefe a couple of weeks ago that he is good enough to play on a marking forward.

Worst comes to worst, send one of the ruckmen down there to play on Minson. PJ has played in defence before. We'll have Newton to be the big fella in the forward line, we might not want both Juice and PJ clogging up the space.

Point taken, perhaps we should just persist with Bode! :o

*Epic sigh*

Hahn's strength isn't his marking but he'll slaughter CJ when it goes to ground.

Also is Carrol a chance to come in to play on Welsh, did a good job in round 2 and was probably the Dees best player that day.

Given our hands are tied a bit I am pretty happy with that. Morton and Newton in is positive and Bailey is sticking with Bode - although he has to start delivering. Martin gets another game which makes sense (regardless of match ups to a degree) although I think his 100% winning streak may be under threat. No calls to drop Jamar this week?

Here's the dog squad also (apologies if someone put this up somewhere else).

Western Bulldogs
B: Dale Morris, BrianLake, Dylan Addison
HB: Ryan Hargrave, Andrejs Everitt, Lindsay Gilbee
C: Daniel Cross, Matthew Boyd, Farren Ray
HF: Brad Johnson, Mitch Hahn, Robert Murphy
F: Scott Welsh, Will Minson, Jason Akermanis
Foll: Ben Hudson, Daniel Giansiracusa, Adam Cooney
I/C (from): Nathan Eagleton, Jarrod Harbrow, Josh Hill, Stephen Tiller, Cameron Wight, Peter Street, Callan Ward

In: Harbrow, Street, Wight, Ward
Out: Griffen (family reasons)

Bode to be dropped Carroll didn;t make the cut. It's a tough call for white or martin. Do we play 3 ruckman and allow PJ to spend a bit mroe time up forward (maybe no it Jucie gets a game) Martin only may be able to play one role on a resting will minson or street??

Couldn't see Street playing, they've already got 2 ruckman. Only we are stupid enough to play 3 ruckman

Playing PJ forward defeats the purpose of us playing Newton, so no White.

I hope Martin keeps his spot, i think a lot of people are under-estimating him if they think he can only play on lumbering giants

INT: D.Bell, S.Martin, M.Newton , S.Valenti

Very happy with that I think the 4 on the bench deserve it, and I do believe there are match ups for the tall defenders and it allows Bruce to stay in the middle.
Minson - Warnock (need a tall)
Hahn - Martin (has the agility to play on him and extra height will help in the air)
Welsh - Garland (speed is perfect for a leading forward)
Murphy - CJ (Played well on a similar player in O'keefe)
Johnson - Bell (suits Johnson but could be swapped with Garland)

Gia - Whelan
Aka - Bartram

Jeff White is unlucky but Jamar and PJ deserve a chance to play in the ruck until their form isn't good enough. Plus playing Newton up forward makes a lot more sense than playing a 3rd ruckman.

So let Cooney run free then?

So let Cooney run free then?
I'm presuming he starts and plays a lot of the game in the midfield (where Dunn will pick him up), whilst the other 7 dogs I've named play forward more. They might not start with the first 5 I named up forward but at some stage it would happen and hence the need for the 5 taller defenders because I wouldn't want to see Whelan or Bartram (or Bode) on any of the 5 taller bulldog forwards.
