Call it a draw guys...

He say's this..

"He said the forward line was an area he wanted to strengthen, but he categorically ruled out Fevola in either trade week or the NAB AFL Draft/Pre-season Draft."

...suggesting that Fevola is no chance

Then he says this...

"[As for Fevola], not at the moment."

...suggesting that things may change.

So you're both right (or wrong ;))

He's a spud and I don't want him, but can anyone else see us approaching Koschitzke to play that forward/second ruckman role? I have a bad feeling that Horse may try and do it, especially with St Kilda apparently having salary cap problems.

Doubtful to see us going for that, he is 29? going on 30 next year, if we did pick him up it would want to be extremely cheap.

Yeah I presumed he would be cheap, as in a swap of late draft picks or something. If it is true that St Kilda is in breach of the salary cap, then they will have to have a firesale of sorts. Btw, we are after a KPF but who could we realistically target? There's not much out there, I was hoping we would be a chance with Mitch Clarke but he only wants to go to WA.

I don't think we are realistically a chance to get an established KPF this trade period, we don't have the picks, and I'm not sure what players we would be willing to give up that would help us.

If we were going to target a KPF could do worse than to take a look at Port Adelaide and Jay Schulz, and see what Port would want. Hasn't been discussed much, but with Butchers great debut Schulz may see his future as a FF lying elsewhere if we threw enough cash at him. He's definitely contracted though, so we'd be paying overs.

We have plenty of fairly light-weighted talls without Bower on the list. What we especially don't need is another of that kind down back where we are set with Reg, LRT, AJ, Teddy (and potentially LJ as well as Spangher).

If we're gonna go and get a tall, it has to be a strongly built one who can play up forward IMO but the stocks seem to be light.

There's not many available though this year S120, that's the problem. :( Not sure if Jarryd Roughead from the Hawks is available and even if he is, he would cost us too much and we probably don't have the bargaining tools to snare Roughead like player.

We can go for a fringe player like Aaron Cornelius though, if Paul Bower isn't of any interest.

I wonder if we could do something similar to what Richmond have done with GWS. They traded their pick 14 for Steven Morris and pick 15.

Last year, GC did a similar deal sending Tendai Mzungu and pick 44 for Freo's pick 39 and also Peter Faulks and pick 61 for Freo's pick 55.

Obviously our round 1 pick is now committed to Mitchell, but any chance of us downgrading our next pick, number 43 overall down to GWS's pick 49 for picking up a mature aged VFL, SANFL or WAFL player?

Purely hypothetical, but the only way I can see us getting a good KPF is if we trade Grundy to Adelaide, who are in need of KPD after losing Davis and Bock. Say Grundy for Pick 14 and Armstrong, then send pick 14 to Collingwood for Dawes? Not sure if Adelaide would go for that though.

Pretty sure Adelaide would take that deal, I wouldn't be happy with it.
(don't really rate Dawes)

The problem this year is that there are a number of clubs looking for a KPF, Carlton, Bulldogs, and Brisbane all interested in securing KPF stock.

Also not really interested in Bower, we have that position covered, and he has trouble getting his body right.

We could try Callum Wilson from West Coast, to play FF?

Why deal in hypotheticals if it's already been stated many times on this board that Grundy isn't going anywhere?

Just an idea - would we consider montagna from st kilda - maybe for grundy . We really need some polish for our midfield and I reckon he would be a good fit and st kilda may be willing to talk given their apparent salary cap issues.

if Clark goes to Freo for a first round pick, who is left as Brisbanes ruck and who would Brisbane use that pick on? (or trade that pick for)
