One thing Matt wasn’t was a flight risk, he moved over here to play shield cricket, was working at east Perth colts as their fitness guy when he retired then ended up back in Melbourne for the bulldogs job.
He is great but the world is full of greats in that role - perhaps its an opportunity to improve - oh yes the AFL caps - an anchor on progress

Disappointing that Matt Inness might be leaving for Essendon, he's been great in setting our fitness back on track. Jacob Brennan needs to go, totally give an ex champ's son a job type of guy.

Don't know if our fitness is that great... I mean most of our players can only run for half a game just saying.

Adding that yeo couldn't get onto the park... Waterman dead.. etc etc

We move on... another fitness guy might be better

That's a simplistic way of looking at it.
We didn't have anywhere near as many injuries as previously.

The problem was, they were all to our good players.

Not impossible that this is a push from Innes/his management to get some of the coin freed up by Simmo coming out of the soft cap this year. Same thing happens with the players. Eg. Yeo who was never going to Adelaide or back to Brisbane. He seems to have been good. Hope he stays. If he doesn't maybe its time to push for compo from the team taking him as he's contracted. Would Essendon bump up there offer for Ryan if we let Innes walk?

To be fair, high performance coaches at Essendon always do well. They really inject vitality into the playing group.
They should have injected the players with Viagra instead of peptides, that might have hardened them up.

Ryan's trade and Innes are two separate issues.

Can't see Essendon being charitable to us when a lot of their players want out.
Nor should they.

I think you'll find erections were one of the side effects for the stuff they gave James Hird.

Definitely Innes’ fault that Waterman dislocated his shoulder in a marking contest and required a reconstruction.

No, its not $$.

Neither. Things are good, but other things pulling him back to Melbourne. Understandable things and I would also go in his situation. It's good that he has held out an extra year.
This is why it shits me when the talking heads in the media drool about “oh they’ve done it to themselves, they’re the richest club around” because it is so hard to attract the best in the business when there is always something that means they have to head back to Vic and we just have to let it happen.

Its only because of need in this case, he's quite happy with the Eagles. If he was from WA and working in Vic, it would reverse and he would be coming here. Its not a vAFL thing.
