Still, the fact is Seaby did indeed get off without charge, and well lately the dockers jusy have to look at someone and we're getting charged with something. There is no parity in that result.
I do enjoy this banter with you, as at least it hasent degenerated into pointless personal name calling and I hope it dosent, HOWEVER what your club has done in the 48 hours is far from sporting, ie Carr gets suspended on anticdoctel evidence form Chick.. pppffft please:cool: how can chick be impartial or objective in laying a complaint. There isnt even footage of it apparently and no umpire saw it.
Whilst your fellow eagles fans seem to think Selwood is a saint and should be excused.
Headland shouldnt have lost his cool, I totally agree with that. He's gone for 4 weeks, however I am a father as well, and if you are as well, then you would recognise that having your children being attacked verbally or physically by some other ******** is absolutely out of bounds. PERIOD.

YOU personally can wish my team well, whilst your club continues to act very unsportsman like towards ours. Why should you care though. We are almost gone for the season alreadyand thats all you West Coasters really want anyways. You never did like us from the start in '95. Lets be honest here. I'm not saying we show be in co-hoots but you guys set the tempo which still exsists today.
God Save Us - where will we go from here in regards to our clubs playing each other. Will we copy European soccer? Will the next Derby see crowd violence? Unfortuately our little game of footy has gone on the backburner as this little war with the hype of the media escalates.
I hope we can just enjoy the game ad speak about the players, maggots, stupid rule changes or whatever is game related. We are far from that ATM with both clubs aggreived at eachother.

some fair comments there

Firstly regarding the jaw...it is probably a fine line. I probably tend to agree with what patsmith said, without malicious intent it is only an accident. NOW, I realise there are many cases where someone has 'accidently' done something and has been suspended, there are also many times when something has been done accidently and was not suspended. For whatever reason, this incident became one of them.

Regarding the social question, i hope that isn't why...because we all know it isn't true!

I 'personally' think what the WCE have done in the last 24 hours is exactly what they should do. We are standing up for our players until they can be FAIRLY trialled. If it comes out that Selwood said what is alledged then yes, I will be appalled, but forgive me for not jumping to conclusions and believing everything Headland says straight away. I'm also not believing everything Selwood says straight away either. I am not a Father...but if Selwood did say that, it is absolutely terrible and I am very disappointed in him and would hope he would be punished.

The chick incident is not a WCE incident per see, it is chick v dockers at most. If, as reported, Chick reported it to the umpire, then there is nothing the eagles can do to stop the investigation, it automatically happens. Whether or not it is right or wrong for Chick to have done this, please don't say it is the WCE out to get you:) In another thread on this forum a freo fan mentioned how Carr also socked Judd, but Judd didnt say anything. But Im not going to come out and say 'the eagles have done right by you by not reporting him for this'. This is Judd vs Carr, not eagles.

From what I've heard of Seaby, couldnt imagine the bloke raising a fist. I would imagine it was more like an instance of a head clash, an accidental collision or such, especially to be defended by an official of the club.

I love watching blokes like Kerr and Waters play, but if it had been one of those players infringing on a headland or carr, than I would be less inclined to label it as an accident.

All I really want to say is that at least Des believed what he was saying was true. I really believe that.

Daniel Chick = Straight faced liar. What has happened to that guy? One of the dodgiest characters in the AFL these days.

Agree with you there. He obviously took it as an afront to his daughter, which it apparently wasn't. Doesn't excuse his actions, but he was doing what he thought was appropriate given his perception of the incident.

As for this whole Chick/Carr thing, it seems very odd. I'll wait until the details are actually released, but the whole thing seems to be a bit of a fiasco. What the hell was the investigator doing if the thing got thrown out straightaway?

There is no evidence to suggest that Selwood didn't insult his daughter, except his own testimony which conflicts with that of two other players.

So there is no "apparently" about it.

The umpire didn't support Des' story, and Peter Bell's testimony backed up Selwood. Seem like a bit of "apparently"
 
I still believe it was all a misunderstanding.... (with regards to selwood/dessie)

if chicky made it all up....he is a disgrace to the club.... that is much worse than sledging :/

I predicted that it was going to be war at the tribunal......but I didn't know it was going to be that bad.....

freaking hell it was like the westralian equivalent to the OJ Simpson case >,>

Sorry but Chick has truly lost the plot.

Reports were that he contradicted his own story, yawned several times, was disinterested at times and combative at others.

He's in a bad way IMO.

And why even have an investigator if he obviously isn't investigating?

I'd say he told the umpire Carr hit him to get a free kick, then was unhappy that it reached the tribunal and that he had to testify.

It's great that Chick and Selwood have come out of this as the losers!

According to the dude on Fox sports, Chick said he was forced off the ground and had to have treatment for a punch in the ribs. He was badly bruised.

...apparently, though, West Coast have a unique treatment regime, and Daniel did all of the icing for this injury at home and didn't tell the club. He said he gets bruised all the time and just treats himself at home without telling the club. Bill Thomas, what are you doing? :)

Unfortunately, for Daniel, he was then shown to be stretching the truth a little again, when it was shown that he actually left the field before Carr whacked him in the guts...allegedly, of course!! :D
