Newley needs to get the ball more and just take it to the hole. At worst he will go to the line. That drive and two handed dunk started our revival. Unfortunately he spends most the time on court just hanging about doing nothing.

We will live and die by the 3 ball this tournament. I can't see us beating Spain, but if we start hitting the outside shot we have a chance.
 
A pretty good showing by the Boomers. They always seem to do us proud, but I wish they would address the slow starts to major tournaments... they've played together for long enough.

On the basis of that game, I think the rotation needs a bit of a shuffle. I would start Newley, and allow Dellavedova to commit more to the backup PG position (as opposed to spending more time in a two point guard line-up).

We are lacking three-point shooting and interior athleticism with this team. Would've preferred Jawai over Baynes.

wasnt he drafted by the rockets?
 
It's hard to judge Newley and Ingles because they hardly get any touches.

Mills monopolises the ball, as is his style, and really at the moment it's out best option. At some point he needs to find a happy medium between creating his own offense and getting the ball into the hands of those two early in the offense.

Yeah he was, but he never played. Ben Pepper was drafted by the Celtics and was shite, so it doesn't really mean much sometimes.

It will never happen but if it was me I'd just get Mills and Newley to play a 2 man game every offence, Penetrate, dish, flash and cut to the basket. Newley is unstoppable when he has a head of steam towards the basket. As I said before, at worst he will draw a foul, these refs will call it.

Barlow is a similar player to Newley, both highly athletic. They have an outside shot, but it is inconsistent.

Was just about to write I won't be watching women's basketball for a long time: not an ounce of tactical nous between any of the players out there and then last second hail mary and we're in the OT. So I guess I keep watching.
