One of the best umpires I’ve known copped abuse every week, a close friend of mine. What I loved about his officiating was he kept it simple, to hell with the ridiculous weekly rule changes. We used to cop a spray if not animated while manning the mark, now it’s a 50m penalty if you blink. Keep it simple.

51 points used by the Roos today , just curious as to what the plan is for them moving forward in regards to the PPS and salary? They are obviously being looked after to get back up and going which is great but I can’t see them having the 60 points to play with next season

It’s going to be tough. They will most likely have to reduce points and also talk som players into reducing salary because their salary cap will also come down.

Some shockers today, the worst was the Rovers player kicking the ball out of an opponents hand and instead of kicking in danger, the umpire paid a trip 5m out from goal.

Shame the Rovers bloke missed the shot, hard to win when you can’t even convert the freebies.
