Why, you’d only be manning Lynch?Fyfe or Cameron.
Since Buddy doesn't play much these days, they are both the biggest match winners in the game ATM.
Having a Lynch, Jack R and Cameron forward would be interesting. You would feel hard done by if you were the 3rd defender in your team.
Yeah I probably am due to the fact I haven’t seen him enough, which is symptomatic of a lot of decision making bias I guess. Each to their own. I'd never leave Bont on the table for Grundy. I also think you are severely understating Whitfield. He's the best kick and decision maker in the game
This is a good point, this is why Id be hesitant to take Grundy, 26 next year, does he really have more than 5 maybe 6 years at this form level? Of course Richmond would as he is what we need and we are contending, but you would think a rebuilding side should look to the 22 and under guns of the AFL.At what point do you discount a player's value due to age? Dustin Martin and Nat Fyfe are 28 and dominant. Do you take Jeremy Cameron who is two years younger but not as consistent over his career? Or Patrick Cripps who is 24 but not quite as good in the middle?
I reckon Taranto is a sneaky shout. Killing it for GWS and only 21. Sam Walsh another. Pick 1 last year and is the #1 ball winner for Carlton (Cripps has missed 2 games) in his first year, so teams have got a look at him at AFL level. Other than the obvious stars in their mid 20s (Cameron, Grundy, Cripps) I reckon these are the sort of players clubs would look at because of the longevity factor.
38 touches and 4 goals against a top 2 team. Limited? Foolish!I think the Bont has the potential to take it up another notch. Cripps is a fantastic contested ball beast - and that's probably what he'll always be. I could see Bont also playing forward for a couple of years and kicking at least 50+ goals in each. (Which is what I thought Fyfe would become pre-broken leg).
To play a game NOW - Cripps. For the next 10 years, and see how things develop - Bont.

Look how many mids you've put up. And then you've got Grundy 10th. The plethora of elite midsi means they're less valuable. There is no-one else but Gawn who is comparable to Grundy. Both the Gs would go top 51. Oliver
2. J Kelly
3. Cripps
4. Walsh
5. Neale
6. Dangerfield
7. Taranto
8. Bontempelli
9. T Kelly
10. Grundy
This is with age, history at club and injury history all being considered.
Tom Mitchell is not there because of his injury.
Ball winners with potential to explode from the contest are what I've gone with mostly.
If you're starting from scratch, Ben Brown wouldn't go in the first round. IMOWouldn't Essendon be crying out for a player like Ben Brown in an open draft, given how prospects like Daniher are only capable of VFL-level football?

Try to be original. Half this thread has already voted for him.Jamie Cripps.
