So clearly its ok to leave the ground to bump and collect players in the head this year. Dangerous precedent to set in Round 1. Absolute disgrace

AFL said that is Perfectly Fine and watch more Players do it now because the AFL said it's Fine as long as you don't Injure the Other Player

So go your hardest belting them in the head as long as they bounce back up. Punishing players on the result instead of the action is just plain stupid

The AFL didn't. The tribunal did. Might be the last sitting for one or two of them.

The AFL has waved it through, though. They should have challenged it even though they thought they would lose — to make the statement, if for nothing else.

The statement that really matters will happen behind closed doors, but agree they just opened themselves up to be whacked by not challenging it. It would have been a good PR move as well as reinforcing their stance on the issue.

AFL by not Appealing is pretty much saying that is Fine

No it’s not. I thought it was worth a week but there is a difference in how a marking contest is treated versus a loose ball contest.

The point about the AFL not appealing is more legalistic. The ground on which an appeal needs to win is that no reasonable tribunal could have come to that decision. That is a much higher threshold than simply another tribunal hearing.

The fact that this doesn’t get discussed more by the media is maybe because it’s not that exciting.
