Much has been spoken about our top 10 players based on most importance to the team, future potential and current output.

If we say that we're a team on the rise, aiming for a top 4 finish we should try to look at our bottom 6-12 players that will improve their game and take us to that next level.

I think our bottom 6 of the best 22 at the minute are:

(in no specific order)

Jordan Russell
Kane Lucas
Zac Tuohy
Paul Bower
Dennis Armfield
Ed Curnow

Depth players that aren't currently playing but capable of slotting in:

Brock McLean
Matthew Watson
David Ellard
Aaron Joseph
Marcus Davies
Andrew Collins
Sam Rowe
Simon White

Didn't include Warnock, Duigan and Walker as I think they're best 22.

I like our bottom 6 and would be happy with knowing that we have 16 better players that you believe are better then these.

JR, second in our bnf in 2010. In a form slump, but hopefully can shake it.
Sugar is young and should only improve
2E Is still learning the game. Much more improvement
PB is showing why we recruited him and I am glad we didn't let him go for nothing last year. Even if he left at the end of this year and only play another half dozen, you would think he could net us a 2nd rounder.
Army tears teams to shreds with his speed.
And Ed. Well I think this guy is underrated. He supports and extracts our gems like he should. He rarely missed a block and goes in hard (for the ball that is(football:cool:))

I don't even want to give a list of who I believe are our 6 weakest, as all have their positives.

Bring on the filth. Lets crush them!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I'll base mine in complete opposite to the top 10, which is the bottom 10 of the best 22.

These are players that I think are in the best 22. The order is based on who I think is easier to replace

1. Curnow
2. Touhy
3. Ellard
4. Warnock
5. Thornton
6. Robinson
7. Duigan
8. Walker
9. Scotland
10. Garlett

That was incredibly hard.

Basically my theory is:

Not best 22

Lucas
Armfield
Bower
Hampson
Russell
Joseph
McLean

Players in best 22 but not included in the above list

Murphy
Gibbs
Judd
Simpson
Kreuzer
Yarran
Laidler
Betts
Henderson
Waite
Jamison
Carrazzo

That's probably a better way to look at it. :thumbsu:

Mitchel, McCarthy ? Have you been down and watched Bootsma ?

I'm not doubting the quality of our kids.

I'm talking about physically ready made players with established experience that will take precedence before the kids who might be due for a game against GC and GWS or unless we're hit with an injury crisis.

Realistically looking at it Mitchell is out with a long-term injury and McCarthy & Bootsma are bound to get at most a couple of games each.

I discussed this at my post, it be these players and some would be under the gun after the season to be retained or not. Kerr and Casboult are yet to play but at their 3rd season will need to.

19 Russell
20 Hampson
21 Warnock
22 Bower
23 Lucas
24 Curnow
25 Armfield
26 Tuohy
27 Ellard
28 Joseph
29 Davies
30 Mclean
31 Watson
32 Collins
33 White
34 O'Keefe
35 Rowe
36 Casboult
37 Kerr

Tuohy imo looks like being a very good player. He moves extremely well through traffic and keeps his head when disposing of the ball. Thats exactly what you want from a half back flanker whose their to hurt on the counter equally as much as acting in a defensive role. Can't see him losing his spot any time soon imo.
