Hard to properly rebuild when you leave your first round picks playing SANFL whilst picking the likes of Frampton, Kelly, Seedsman, Murphy and Mackay.
Still relevant.

I think when doing a rebuild it's not just recruitment it's list management and player retention as well. Often player retention is as important as recruiting.

Off topic but part of the reason our list got into such a mess was.

1) We lost McGovern, Lever, Cameron, Crouch and maybe others who you would say we lost before their prime after pumping games into them.

2) We overpaid senior players who really didn't give the output we needed and have only recently cleared them off our cap.

I'm not convinced we have the list management right either.

Supporters in 2020 when the club announced a proper rebuild: Rebuilds take at least 5 years!
Supporters in 2022: 'y are we still inconsistent?'
Was it roo that said the rebuild was finished this year?

It's going to fail because we continue to pump games into players that are not up to it and 'elite' talent we have drafted is left in the reserves for some bizzare reason.

Pedlar being dropped after one game and TT not being in the team ahead of Berg and Frampton, are prime examples of this. I thought we had seen the last of Berg and or Frampton, but no - here we are playing them again.

I can’t believe this Berg and Frampton thing.

I’ve been going on for a year about how they just play musical chairs with these two, and the result is never any different.

But playing them BOTH at the expense of RT is just some next level shit.

They have got to be taking the piss now.

Has anyone seen anything from the club (onfield or off) or read a persuasive argument from a fellow poster that provides any confidence whatsoever that we’ll win a flag in the next five years?

No, apart from our stellar women's program (hopefully they can win the prelim on Sunday).

Nice except people aren't asking 'y are we still inconsistent?'. Inconsistency requires a change of state. We're shit and we've been shit all along. We are very consistent.

They are like a couple of frozen shits the club has in the freezer that they keep taking out to taste just in case they've somehow turned into chocolate icecream.

I don't think so, I've honestly never heard or seen a quote about this from a club official, despite it being mentioned on this board countless times. If they have said it, please just link an article or whatever!

Imagine asking a Melbourne supporter the same question in 2016, that's literally impossible to predict

But Melbourne recruited guns and traded in quality, we haven't done the former and only Dawson to show for the latter.

If you're going to be shit, just play the high drafted kids, this one game then dropped is rubbish selection policy, and play them where they were recruited for.

Can someone tell me when our next win will be, if we keep playing the standard of the first two rounds?

Give it time. Jones the midfielder is playing back pocket and looks lost at times. McHenry the midfielder runs around a lot like an angry dog up forward but makes poor decisions and average disposal and doesn't kick goals.

Petracca the midfielder was playing half forward a couple seasons ago... Laird the midfielder was playing back pocket

Not really sure what you are saying here? I have stood by my stance that it takes more than 1-2 years for most players to show if they are part of the future. People are expecting more than is realistic
You said people were whinging and being unrealistic because players take more than 1-2 years, which isn’t what posters are posted about. Posters are pissed that players who have been around for longer than that look like they are flops and some high picks into their second year aren’t getting a run.
