Part of the problem of having the ruckmen we had for many years has been the issue of them all finishing near each other.
Salmon, Alessio, Somerville and Barnes.

Hille, Laycock and Bradley are not ruckmen, and don't adequately compete in the centre clearances.
They might be good around the ground players, but I just don't see how we can get by with any of these in the ruck.
We don't have the talls to compete with sides like Brisbane ho get first use from blokes like Keating and Charman, or Collingwood with McKee and Fraser, who just kill our ruckmen.

Of that list, I'd say ony Henneman and Hunt better have good years, or they're in trouble. The rest are safe, and that augers well for the next few seasons.


PS Interesting how only Welsh and Bullen were taken after Pick 40 in their respective drafts. the rest are all higher draft picks.
Including Alvey & Cupido who were first round picks initially.
