So in light of Kingys thread I thought we should have an "internal bigfooty review" on our list.

Obviously Kingys was just pointing put the ridiculous way we are viewed but I can't see anyone else other than bigfooty (non-trolling supporters welcome) actually making a decent review of our list..

Wow that's sad..

Anyway so it's up to you guys:

Take a look at our list. After every player say what he provides for the team and will he contribute to a premiership. You could also say when you believe our next premiership to be.

Here goes my opinion:

I think our start to the season has stopped us from becoming a premiership threat however I believe we can push next year.

Rory Atkins: Haven't seen enough. Looks small and skillful but would like to hear SANFL followers view. NOT in a crow's premiership side by my limited viewing .

James Battersby: No idea once again have been working when on TV heard good and bad.. would like to hear opinions

Eddie Betts: Hasn't produced much. Has had his good moments but really he has fumbled a lot more than I remember. Clearly has skill and chases but seems like a player who is unreliable. If were in the race in the next 3 years he's in

Luke Brown: Another I'm not sure about. Is clearly being made our future BP however seems to get beaten every second week and doesn't show much poise. Is young though so would persist however his spot could go to Laird.

Charlie Cameron: Seemed like a gun last week and Danger in his post-match interview said, "wait till he gets his confidence up." Has to be in our plans for a premiership team.

Brad Crouch: I worry about this guy more than any. However it's not the fact that he will be a gun or won't justify he's pick but it's simply he's durability. Definitely a premiership player if he can stay fit.

Matt Crouch: Looking great. Is clearly being viewed as Thommos successor. Has shown so much on the inside but also the link up player vs GWS. Surely a premiership player chance.

Danger: no words

Richard Douglas: we all know how he's improved so what more needs to be said. IMO is equal second with Rory. (Part of our future)

Ellis-Yolmen - So many differing reports by the sounds of it not part of a premiership team

Angus Graham - Going to break out next year and win us a GF by obtaining 65 HO and 20 Clearances plus 8 goals.

Mitch Grigg - So classy and that left foot. Couldn't miss from 50 however has lost his mojo. If he can regain form could be a gun and a part of a premiership team.

Kyle Hartigan: Clearly Trucks successor and will get games. Has shown heart to stuff up in the first and fight back.. not sure we have a choice but will be in our premiership team in the future if we have one.

Ricky Henderson - Was finally played in a position that suited him and allowed to stay there.. weve missed him hugely. Will be a huge bonus if we get him back with 5 weeks to go before finals and were in contention. Def. a part of our premiership plans.

Sam Jacobs: Goes down were screwed

Entire AFC list: No words. Think they might be tall and maybe part of our next premiership. Durability is a concern. Also height. Probably won't make it.

People might denigrate the OP but at least it's better than Jesper Fjelstad's end of year list reviews.

I remember the one he did at the end of 2012. Especially his loving care and detail towards first/second year players.

"1/10 didn't play a game".
"2/10 only managed a couple of games".

22/10 - Played all games

For what it's worth, I give a lot of credit to the OP, whatever you might think of the analysis itself, for having a crack at creating some proper footy discussion that goes beyond what has become some pretty mundane posting on this board lately along the lines of "he is AFL ready vs no he's not", "haha I told you he was AFL ready lulz" and Jarryd Lyons' girlfriend. I think it's a topic that deserves discussion because we have a pretty young list and will need to make some difficult decisions on it in the next couple of years. So I'll have a crack.

1. Podsiadly - has been a surprisingly solid performer this season after a couple of stinkers first up. I do not dislike the guy but it's very hard to see him playing past 2015 and equally hard to see us winning a flag by then. We haven't had all of Pods, Tex, Jenkins and Lynch available in the same week yet and when we do, I'd like to think Pods will be the unlucky one.

2. B. Crouch - the bloke is an absolute jet but his durability is definitely a concern. At what point does it stop being luck and do we start asking questions about his body? We need to look after him.

3. Reilly - I am an unashamed Reilly whipper. Apart from that though, I can't help thinking he plays a position where we have several younger, more athletic and more composed options who have no less skill. Correlation doesn't necessarily equal causation, but comfortably our best performance of the season was when he was dropped.

4. Jenkins - my impression is that JJ was lumped with unfair expectations last year, particularly after Tex went down. Set shot kicking remains a concern, but he has (1) improved his leading patterns and (2) better used his athleticism this year to give himself easier shots and the conversion (17.11, and 17.7 since the Sydney game) has followed. One of those mercurial players where you have to take the good with the bad, but as time goes on I reckon the good will increasingly outweigh the bad.

5. S. Thompson - excellent bounce back season, but like Pods it's hard to see him as part of our next flag. Either incapable of or unwilling to run defensively. If guys like Lyons and Crouch Sr bang the door down, I could live with Scotty getting a rest or two to squeeze them in.

6. L. Thompson - seems to have had his papers stamped. Shame, because he really showed something in 2010, particularly in the SANFL finals.

7. van Berlo - jury out until he comes back from injury. Can't be argued that he struggled in 2013 and Kerridge has shown a lot as a tagger in 2014... it's not hard to see van Berlo being shunted around the park Reilly-style to try to find a position for him.

8. Johnston - well back in the pecking order, unable to get a game even before Lynch and Tex came back. Out until July-ish with his latest injury and frankly it's not easy to see him making the cut at the end of the year.

9. Sloane - I've had the impression that he hasn't been at his best this year, but looking at his numbers that is just not the case. Shows how much I've come to expect from him. Gun.

10. Jaensch - he's surprised us all this season but I still reckon that if we are going to win a flag, Jaensch is the kind of guy we need to upgrade on. Leaving aside his possession numbers which he inflates with cheap touches, his contested and intercept marking have been really impressive this year, his actual defensive efforts not so. I still reckon Brown and Laird are our premiserhip standard small defenders.

11. Wright - I love the bloke but he hasn't gone on with it since 2012. Needs to rediscover that form becauuse right now a couple of injuries and the lack of favour of Lyons/Grigg is the only thing keeping him in the side.

12. Talia - I don't reckon there's a better defnder in the comp. There I said it.

13. Walker - our best player. There I said it. Also our heart and soul. If he stays fit, we do good things for the next 5-7 years.

14. Mackay - better season this year, but still needs to get more footy. Has a clause in his contract keeping him here next year if he wants to stay, but I would want to see this form at a minimum for the next season and a half before offering him a free agent contract. Jury still otu for mine.

15. Graham - I have no intention of being cruel to this bloke on here.

16. Brown - This bloke has the potential to become a seriously underrated defender. For example, I have no idea who the flip Nick Smith is from the Swans but their fans rave about him. Brown routinely and quietly shuts down the best opposition small forward. 6th in our B&F last year suggests he is rated hugely internally.

17. Kerridge - I like Kerridge a lot but I wonder about his role going forward. He can find the footy, is a very good kick both in terms of distance, penetration and accuracy, is super fit, can tackle, can tag, can kick a goal... I'm glad we've settled him down as a tagger this year, and he is certainly best 22 going forward, but I hope we can see him play a more offensive role as the years progress.

18. Betts - Has averaged 1.5 goals per game without hitting top gear, which says a lot. Also leads the league in goal assists. Gun. Hopefully the body holds up for long enough that he can be part of it if/when we are serious premiership contenders. I suspect he will be the sort of player who is clever enough to age gracefully even if they lose a yard of pace.

20. Siggins - Still early days in his development. Nice user of the ball and has progressed steadily from SANFL reserves to holding his own in the league side this year. Frankly I haven't seen enough of him to form a strong view.

21. Atkins - Has something special about him. Needs to build a tank. I'd like to see him get another year or 2 after this one and see if he comes on because if he does, he could be a serious player.

22. Otten - Really have to wonder about Otten's place in the team. Not big enough to be a KPD, doesn't move or use the ball well enough to be a rebounding defender, not talented enough to displace a Tex or Lynch as a forward. 3rd tall nullifying defender seems to be his lot, and to be fair you'd think he would be the first in line for that role after Truck's retirement forces Hartigan into a true KPD role. I actually like Andy a lot but a bit like Jaensch, I reckon we need an upgrade on Otten to be a real contender.

23. Petrenko - Simply doesn't do enough. I would have loved for him to be given a proper go in his real position in defence, but for whatever reason it hasn't happened and it's too late now.

24. Jacobs - Has to be in stron AA contention this year. Showing that 2013 was an aberration, his around the ground work has been the real revelation this year. Has cracked 20 touches as many times as Mackay this year. True story. He's our premiership ruckman.

25. Rutten - Rumours of his demise have long been overstated, but this year is the first time I have actually seen it with my own eyes. He's been a great servant but the future he ain't.

26. Douglas - I was a hater but he has become an incredibly important player to us. We turned in 2 very poor performances when he was out suspended. He's also won me 2 first goalscorer bets this year, so very much in my good books is Dougy.

27. Lynch - Ten goal Tommy is a super important cog in our wheel. I can't wait to see him, Tex and Jenkins all operating in the same forward line. Needs to forget about the pinpoint pass from half forward flank to centre half forward though.

28. Ellis-Yolmen - Has developed superbly in the SANFL but for whatever reason we don't seem remotely interested in picking him in the AFL side. One thing might be his kicking, which is poor. I would like to at least see him at AFL level before writing him off, but don't hold out much hope.

29. Laird - 2013 good, 2014 not so good. Has been the big loser out of Jaensch's resurgence which is a shame because I reckon Laird is a far superior defender and footballer generally. He's been shunted from role to role this year - he's too good to leave out - but I'd like to see him given a chance to settle.

30. Osborn - He's tall. As far as I can tell, that's about what he has going for him.

31. Lyons - No doubt he knows how to find the footy. Kicking skills have been suspect but I reckon that's more to do with never settling at AFL level than a fundamental flaw. I reckon his biggest issue is his tank. If that is up to speed, I reckon he's an AFL player, given the opportunity. But if he doesn't make it, he's always got... nah never mind.

32. Dangerfield - He goes alright. Must convince him to stay.

33. Smith

34. Shaw

35. McKernan

36. Martin

38. Grigg

39. Knight

40. Porplyzia

41. Hartigan

42. Cameron

43. Battersby

44. M. Crouch

45. Henderson

46. Spina

47. Kelly

Forget about a job with tiser as way too accurate & insightful!

Smith - absolute gun and deserving of AA atm. We would all like to see him moved onto the wing but atm with the way the game is played he is doing just as much damage. Clearly a keeper

Shaw - injury prone. He plays as a decent 3rd man however has been shown up when having to defend. Was performing well in '12 but since the pressures grown he has struggled. Needs to learn to kick n defend one on one. Depth

Mckernan - Decent ruck. Pretends to be a FF I'm the NAB. Should remain on our list for as little $$ as possible until we can find someone better incase, heavens forbid, Jacobs gets injured.

Martin - Looked like a gun in his first few games. I wasn't the only one impressed since Goodwin asked for his number to be given to Martin, unlike Pets who asked McLeod for his number. Hasn't been given a chance since. Played well last week and should be given a decent go. Could be the the next Jaensch who we are surprised by.

Grigg - All poise. We all see his class however whats been holding him back? He really hasn't played a good game this year. Is it second year blues or did he get his gf a boob-job n get ahead of himself? He's been sub a number of times but did get subbed in early vs melb. I think we all believe he is a player of the future and hope he can show his class.

Knight - I don't get a chance to watch SANFL so hopefully someone else can comment

Porps - Love the bloke. Has been my favourite player for years and people forget or don't seem to realise how instrumental he was in our '12 finals campaign. However I sadly do have to admit he's slipped and seems gone.. was so classy but those shoulders.. shoulda listened to Alex..

Hartigan - He's a young key defender playing on blokes that have been in the system 7 years longer than him.. yes he's stuffed up a lot but he has also composed himself and played well in the rest of the game. That shows a lot and means a lot when looking at a defender. It determines whether they are easily mentally beaten which can lose u the game.

Cameron - RandyMarshJizz.gif

Battersby - Sanfl watchers please contribute ur opinion

M.Crouch - Young and didn't have the tank/fitness most of the kids drafted but far out the guy knows how to find the footy. We all knew that but he has surprised at the way he has used it aswell. So happy with him..

Henderson - he is clearly injury prone but he is a unique player. Was finally slotted into a spot for more than 2 games and took it with both hands. He was a shining light last year and would take the game on whether that was kicking into the corridor or taking his opponent on. The strangest part was that he would succeed at it 99% of the time.. love him

Spina and Kelly - Sanfl watchers?
