Can someone please give Justin Longmuir a medal, or a truckful of money, or whatever it takes to keep him with us? Quite extraordinary what he and we are achieving down back, and the addition of Moore was inspired.

Good that have managed to get some games experience into Langdon/Howe/Maynard and even Crisp who would have spent about almost 40 games down there.

The best backlines are always those that have that block of experience together.

The first quarter stat is because we have blitzed a number of our opponents, not giving them a chance to test our defence. The overall stat also reflects our team defence as much as it does our actual defenders. Not that they haven't been solid. Still feel there is more to come from Moore and Howe in particular.

Langdon seems to have gears too, as shown in last years finals series

Yep, pre season I hoped it would be our turn to be extraordinary, slow start but wowee BT.

Our defence is going to be tested without Langdon.

Despite our opponents not scoring in the first, I don't think it's been our best quarter for our defenders. It's been the best for our mids and forwards. It's this quarter where we have won most of the ball and routinely dominated possession.

Subsequent quarters (like the 2nd against the Saints) have been a bigger tick for our defence, as they've had to face a large number if repeat entries.
