After going tp the GWS match and watching us against the D's on TV it appears to me that our decision making and style of play is very disjointed and the players are uncertain as to which style of play they are supposed to be utilising.
By this I mean that the overlying theme under Malthouse was an direct style of play around the boundary usually set up by Davis getting the ball over or through the press to a halfback position allowing us a quick and often lethal and quick inside 50.
It has been said over the last few months that Buckley wants to aim for a more direct and corridor orientated type of play with his aim to appear to take the ball through the top of the 50 as quick as possible.
I guess that the crux of it all is Bucks taking a winning formula that has been ingrained into the team over the past deacade and reworking it to his ideals over a very short period of time.
So, in saying all this, we might feel that Pendles, Swanny, Cloke etc are our most important players, however my feeling is that our most important "player" is Bucks. He must leave the many nuances of Malthouse in place whilst imparting his style of coaching onto our club.
It's a tough road ahead and I wish him all the best.
N.B Looking forward to a full team on the paddock in the hope that we become more cohesive.
