With a great list already developed and waiting, Chris Scott did well to take the side to the 2011 premiership. Can't take that away from him.
However, over the years, it has become apparent that Scott's list management, gameday tactics, and ability to motivate the side has been very poor. A plethora of questionable decisions have plagued our year thus far, and I think the good will he garnered from winning the premiership so early has been eroded by his apparent stubbornness and coaching ineptitude.
I don't see Scott lasting much longer. As a club that went to such great lengths over recent years to become a benchmark in the competition not just on, but also off, the field, we cannot let this last much longer. The higher ups at the club need to make the call, and need to make it soon. Scott needs to be shown the door and someone else installed as Geelong coach.
But who could that be? I propose we use this thread to speculate and discuss who the next coach of the Geelong football club may be. It is disappointing that we missed out on Hinkley, but maybe we could poach him from Port? Any way we could manage that?
Who do you think would be a good prospect, and who would you like to see in the role? When do you think the inevitable call will be made? Certainly, the next decision made in regards to our next coach must be one made after a thorough and meticulous selection process, as to avoid making another blunder as we have with Scott.
