Well said cmndstab, personally I think we've done incredibly well with the crouch brothers, a heap of rising star noms and no more sanctions, excellent thread and well done AFC, you got us a fair way out of the shite you put us in. ;)
Go crows.

So Aish and Scharenberg wouldn't have been available and we got a top 10 player in M.Crouch along with Laird and Hartigan. No harm done! Phew! Pats on the back to everyone.

;) Time to move on.

Not sure what you mean by no harm done ???

Essentially we are minus Vince, Dunstan, Apeness or Dumont because of this. We made the best of our what we had, but effectually there's no way to make up for what we lost.

Any thoughts on who we would have selected at Pick 8 had we kept it?

The four names I kept hearing were Dunstan, Dumont, Apeness and Crouch.

I am guessing we would have made a call on either Dunstan or Apeness at 9 and then hoped that either Dumont or Crouch were still available at 23.

Have we served Essendon's penalties yet, or are they still to come??

In a funny kinda we have served a penalty because of Essendons doping, twice. We lost to them, we missed the finals by 1 game .We played them in round 1.

Not only were they charged up as a result of the scandal ( many have theorized they played above themselves as result) they were still fresh from the experiments. The playing field was unfair.

Actually I am all for looking forward.
However to say if we had pick 8 we wouldn't have got Aish is niave and stupid. If we had a pick at 8, Aish could have done a Cyril and say he didn't want to move and he may well have gone to us at 8.
Anyway I am happy with the draft and how we did considering our penalties. Lets move on. Crouch jnr will be a gun imo.

Or 8 + Vince might've moved us up a little. But anyway...

Shhhh, don't remind the Fat Controller as he is unfortunately staying & may decide to wield his angry stick our way, just because he can.

Yeah, this. I wonder what our penalty will be when Collingwood's caught for illegal drug use, Essendon goes down with ASADA and Port Power gets done for its unregistered oestrogen supplement program?

Always keen to have a go at trigg and co, but agree with stab. At least if we have a crap year there will be an early draft pick to look forward to. crouch for vince is also a positive.

I get what you're saying there, but no draft pick is worth seeing us lose week after week. I see the draft as a consolation prize. As long as we're trying to build a winning culture, it's a good start.

Next year is apparently a super draft for KPPs and rucks. I say we tank to get a top rated KPF and an outside pacy middi. Then we are set for the next 10 years of dominance. And then judging by Melbournes penalties, if we get caught a will get a fine that will be paid by the AFL, Craigy will cope a six month ban, and we get no draft sanctions.

Personally, I think the best think to come out of this draft is Aish going to Brisbane.

Mofo be playing in red-yellow-blu---> 3 years tops, if current form is anything to go on...

Culture biatches, culture!

Seriously though(as if I wasnt already) That was some pretty "soft" time served.
Went by real quick?

Obviously I go into each week wanting and hoping to win. If I had a choice, I'd want our first pick to be 18 every year. But the reality is that we will have bad years. The system provides for a bit of hope at the end of a crap year by giving an early draft pick. Having that glimmer of hope taken away throughout an ordinary year makes me realise how valuable that early draft pick is. It's the hope for the future that is generated by a shithouse year.

Aish to brissy could be gold, I feel though that we won the polec lottery.

Don't know if you're serious or not, but I am.

We should be liaising with James Aish's family and Manager right now about him coming back to Adelaide to play with the Crows at the end of his first contract.

They're a close family, and we just want to see them all happy together. :)
