We seem to just lob it up high and hope for the best

And we do it week after week. Mark Williams would go kickless playing in our forward line.

We had our chances. Had more inside 50's and more shots on goal.

A week of goal kicking practice is in order.

Positives are

i: Schammer's disposal heaps better.
ii: Mundys best game for the club, love the Johnoo Brown type mark.
iii: Happy was going alright until injured.
iv: Parks was terrific.
v: Duff man is getting up to speed.

At Sturt in the 70's legendary coach Jack Oatey used to get the players kicking through hoops to increase their accuracy. It worked.

I'd love to see Paul Medhurst doing this all week long.

As he was running back, I was thinking, "great - here's a deadset free kick and another shot at goal. Turn around ferchrissakes!!".

Then, as he marks it, "Muuuundyyyy!!". And cool as you like clears the ball.

Star in the making that boy. :thumbsu:

vi: Hase getting something like a bit of form back.

I forget which quarter it was in but at one stage the camera zoomed in on him and he looked like he was in a lot of pain, hopefully the break will do him some good.

aaron's just a weak minded dork, who's trying to troll Pav_for_AA, without actually realising that Pav_for_AA never posts on this board. Ignore him and he might go and find out just where Pav_for_AA actually does hang out.

True but its just not kicking that they cant do. They cant tackle or win contested balls either. Tossed around like rag dolls today.

I find it astonishing that some of you can find positives from that match.
Schammer was pathetic. I have never been a fan of his and won't be until he learns to kick the ball instead of stupid indirect handpasses that put other players under pressure. Pavlich had no influence what so ever although he wasn't the worst player on the ground by a long shot. Delivery to him was poor as per usual. Parker played his 'ass off to no avail, poor disposal each time he was on the run off the back line and delivering into the attacking 50, atleast had the right idea. Kicking as our downfall and if we had converted our early opportunities I think the scoreline would reflect differently, but its a case of coulda woulda shoulda. It's gonna be a tough 2 weeks for the boys, couldn't have come at a better time though. There's my 'bitch for the day.

Re: Our players can't kick.

Should read: Our players can't PLAY

Moron Dumbass Medhurst is a classic example.

IMHO Mundy was the only one who could hold his head up at all, perhaps Hadrill as u say especially considering it was first game back. Pav looks disinterested. Haselby is broken. FFS give him a break to recover and dont give me that BS that he is 'fit'.

Your right on Hase.
I think the good old Freo Game plan is wearing Pav down.

When he's clear they don't kick it to him...when he's one on one they are reluctant to kick it to him...
Then they kick it straight at him and not to his advantage.

Then they kick it to him when he's three on one. I think he's getting right royally P1ssed off

Mundy was OK.

Mundy, like the rest of the team, played like a girls blouse. On at least half a dozen occasions, Mundy refused to come over the pack to punch the ball away, because he didn't want to take the hit. So instead, he floated behind the pack hoping to pick up the easy possession. More often than not the Geelong player marked it.
But that's what happens when you implement a soft gameplan. Hard players play like marshmallows. Look at Pavlich, he dropped a few deadset sitters in the last quarter. There's only so much you can take.
