Now, i generally dont start threads, especially after a win. I find them personally, too reactionary. However this I feel carries merit, win lose or draw.

Ed Curnow
Jeremy Laidler
Nick Duigan

3 "rookies" of sorts. All have not only slotted right in, but stood out in their own right. I love what each have brought to our side, the way they conduct themselves, and how represent the CFC

flipping good job boys!

Laidler was great, I havent been the biggest supporter of his (not a knocker just thought it was between him and White when Bower comes back) but he really stood out to me.

Can't say enough about Curnow, the guy is the glue that holds our midfield together. He's just an out and out gun.

Duigan also did a great job, a bit fumbley but it was wet and he tools some great marks.

How often can a team say they've brought in an entire new line that has clicked from the get-go? FMD...

ha I was going to say this Thy, but I thought someone would chime in with an example

I think my fave (and this is splitting hairs) is Duigs. As much as I love Ed, I just don't think, in 6 games this year, Duig's eyes have left the football. He knows one line, the straight, and such is the path he takes

Also convenient that a best mate of mine is a mad Norwood AND Crows supporter

*content sigh*

Laidler's been the best snug fit down back since Jack O'Connell. He just gets the job done.

Duigan, tunna balls.

White, went all Ray Gabelich, but he snagged it while hbf ate his hat, versatile, with a bit of footy smarts.

Curnow, gets it a lot, funny sorta kick, gotta check my DreamCoachStatFest.

Big big rap for Curnow. My only criticism of him, just to show this isnt a love in, is that he does kick a lot of up and under balls, that go further up than they do forward. But he is a hard working gem and has made life very hard for McLean. He (McLean) is going to have to go up another notch to get back in. And who can be upset with that. Curnow the best new recruit in the AFL IMO.

What I can't believe is that the guy (Curnow) could not even get a game in the SANFL seniors? I mean how is this possible .. surely a guy doesn't get a broken leg and then improve 1000% in the recovery? The ability *must* have been there before how come it wasn't spotted at all? People rave on about VFL-quality players who turn out to be great in the AFL as "rare finds" - here's an AFL-quality player who was playing at the very least *2* levels below AFL standard FFS.

Curnow is an absolute star.

Laidler is VERY good. Stupid kick at the beginning of the game tonight that cost us a goal, but other than that, solid as a rock. I feel calm when the ball falls in to his hands at half back.

Duigan... still hasn't won me over 100%. He's good, no doubt about it, but he just seems too fumbly sometimes and is it just me or is he a bit too slow as well? He was beaten (given a don't argue) far too easily in the Swans' forward 50 tonight on one occasion in a one on one contest and did not have anywhere near enough pace to make up for it.

Still, I doubt there is anybody else on our list I would rather have on half back or in the pocket than Duigan (not including those who are already there, like Laidler and Russel).

Relax...that was back as an 18 year old in 2008.

He played VFL last year and dominated.

We have had some steals for sure, throw in Yarran and Garlett and yes some awesome drafting.

Some very valuable additions to the team. Obviously we have done our homework and picked up some players that fill the gaps in our squad from last season.

Does this mean we don't need to sack Hughes anymore?:confused::confused:

I have always been on Brock the Rock's side but am now ruing the lost pick 11.

Curnow is just an out and out star ... watching him closely at the moment and his value to the team just cannot be measured. He is in everything and is an awesome player who does all the hard things and gets the ball out.

The number of times he buries himself in the pack and then miraculously gets the ball out to a receiver with a sharp hand ball is unbelievable.

Kicking can be a bit up and under but have seen some great passes too.

Reminds me of judd with his handballs always manages to get one out regardless of the pressure applied.

Yes its true I have man love for Curnow!

Don't rue the lost pick, try thinking of it as gained depth. ..

Where are all the Wayne Hughes bashers now?

Great pick ups by the club, keep up the good work boys!!

Laidler's best game for the club by a long way, had him 2nd best on the ground behind the great man.

Duigen's rebounding and ability to beat an opponent one out has been fantastic, and Ed brings something to the midfield that we've been missing, Consistency in getting the hard ball.

Rapt with the new guys, couldn't have asked for more at this stage and I'm sure they will improve even more as they get more settled :thumbsu:

I'd go another decade to Kernahan, Bradley, Motley ;)

and Dorotich, and Naley

Obviously they are not as good as that bunch of players but I did say SINCE - and the reason I mentioned Clape, Hogg and Manton was that they were the final pieces in the 95 Premiership puzzle. ;)

Duigan, Laidler, Curnow might be the final pieces in the XX Premiership Puzzle. :p
