Our Rookies havnt been delisted!

Oh, and if you go to carltonfc.com.au player profile section, all rookies are still listed (even Shields), while the senior list has been updated as to what was published on afl.com.au

The bit I have bolded speaks to the reliability of the Carlton website.

The AFL website specifically listed them as deletions from the list.

http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tabid/208/Default.aspx?newsId=69491

which confirms that they have actually been de-listed.

If they are sighted at training, that would substantiate the many claims that they have ben invited to training to try to earn another selection in the upcoming rookie draft, where they could well be competing with Pfeiffer, CJ, Hislop, Gourdis and any other young prospects that our recruiters rate who are not taken in the ND.

Competition for places on our rookie list is starting to get fierce, my how things have changed... :thumbsu:

Pfeiffer is still listed.

I'm surprised Denis Munari isn't there too. The CFC website is only a slightly more usable source of useless information than the abomination it was last year.

I'm betting what you got told is complete and utter rubbish because the above statement makes no sense whatsoever.

Would you like to point out which part is utter rubbish and why doesn't it make sense?

This is the full post. It is all correct as far as I can work out. Granted, since we have discovered that they have definately been delisted, the upgrade option is out. Geez you're a hard man Jeremias! ;)

From a separate source, I heard they have all been delisted, however just today got told that they have all been invited to train with the club before a final decision is made to upgrade, run the gauntlet of the drafts or simply dump them. I can see the confusion because on the AFL site(not Matt Burgan), they are all there on the gone list. Rookies marked with **

Cain Ackland
Clinton Benjamin
Luke Blackwell
David Ellard**
Lachie Hill**
Ryan Jackson
Sam Jacobs**
Aaron Joseph**
Aisake O'hAilpin
Darren Pfeiffer
Jason Saddington (Ret)
Michael Shields**

Straight from the horses mouth.

All the attention was on the players who were delisted by Clubs when the first list lodgement was made to the AFL last Friday. All Clubs were required to submit a list with a maximum of 35 players as part of the lead up to the NAB AFL National Draft on November 29th. As part of this list of players, Clubs also include any rookie promotions and second year rookies.

David Ellard and Aaron Joseph were both retained on the Carlton Rookie List as second year rookies for the 2009 season while Michael Jamison, a nominated rookie in 2008, was elevated to the primary list.

Players from the 2008 primary list who were not included in the Carlton list lodged with the AFL last Friday are: Cain Ackland, Clinton Benjamin, Luke Blackwell, Ryan Jackson, Aisake O’hAilpin, Darren Pfeiffer and Jason Saddington

There you go. Pfeiffer has gone but Joseph, and Ellard staying on as second year rookies.

Finally some light is shed in the situation.

Looks like Jacobs is training with the club in an effort to get re rookied.

Good to hear about AJ and Ellard :)

Your post didn't make sense because you said that the rookies have been delisted but may still be elevated.

That's an impossibility if ever I've heard of one. ;)

Not to mention that you were wrong anyway according to the article on the CFC website. :p

Great to finally get some official confirmation from the club on this issue.

I'm very happy that we decided to persist with Joseph and Ellard, particularly AJ.

At last! Great to see Joseph is there, and Ellard deserves another year too. The kid has a great attitude.

That's three rookie spots taken with Pfeiffer likely to be picked as a rookie also (unless somebody else were to take him which is highly unlikely)

2 new rookies unless Jacobs or Benjamin are taken back as rookies.

All delisted? Get a decent source who knows what he's talking about!:p

Don't forget Zac, potentially 2 of them...

The Irish international rookie we're looking at? Would he count as a 6th rookie or would he be apart of the 5?

I think they count towards your total rookes, but being international rookies they can stay on the rookie list for 3 years instead of 2.

Also vague reference to C4's suggestion of rookie listing Zac Dawson.
