93 prelim easy. one of the best 1st halves the crows had ever played - shaping up to be one of the best days of my life - turned into one of the worst days of my life!

the brisbane loss was pretty humiliating.

however, in terms of my heart breaking would have to be the west coast final last year. followed by the essendon prelim..

Here is one people have forgotten about

Round 22 2001

Adelaide V Fremantle

Fremantle went 14 weeks without a win before breaking the drought against Hawthorn at the dome, to call Freo pathetic that year would have been an understatment. They came into the game on 1 win for the year and the crows came in just neeeding to win to secure 6th spot and a home final appearance. The script was written for a easy victory to Adelaide and a home final.

Adelaide go on to play one of the worst games of football I have ever witnessed at their bogey ground. Went in half time tied at 8.9 a piece only be outgunned 9 goals to 3 by a pathetic Freo outfit.

I will never forget how pathetic that game was.

Essendon 1993 still hurts the most though

I was talking about close losses.

What about our worst home loss ever by 97 points in R9 1994 vs Hawthorn. I was there that day and it was a cold and cloudy day and it was a huge crowd of over 44000. I remember Matty Liptak taking an absolute screamer of a mark in the final quarter but the Hawks smashed us and we played like crap and had 2 scoreless quarters.

The first showdown would have been right up there. :D

pfft. it wasn't that much of a big deal. we won the showdown 2 and then went onto win the flag. Blight said the loss in the first showdown was the turning point in the season.

so in a way the crows should thank port for the flag..

2006 prelim. Because it seemed all year we were the goods, then everything went bad. The Prelim looked as though things were finally going our way. Then stupid Ben Cousins & Cox deceided to end our dream.

I hate West Coast.
I hate being knocked out of the finals.

Last years Prelim left me the worst, and I still to this day get angry thinking about it. Was too young to remember the 1993 Prelim though.

The 2005 loss to the Saints was awful too. That night couls quite well have cost us a premiership, maybe not, but more than likely a GF spot.

The weekends loss will be with me for a long time though. That hurt a lot. To have the game and to lose it through such stupid mistakes, really hurts. The draw was open for us and results and injuries were finally all going our way for a change but we completely stuffed up! Stings a lot!

The 1993 was the worst ever, football has changed significantly since then back in those days having a lead like that is usually game over, whereas in modern football comebacks from larger leads are common place.

I am interested in other people's thoughts of this, but back in 93 a 40 point lead would be like about 60-70 points in today's football.

Inexperience played a large part in that loss and for a 3rd year team to get that close to a GF was a mammoth performance.

R18 Melbourne 2.2 2.12 4.13 9.13 67 7.1 9.1 14.5 18.8 116 L Football Park 31963 19-Jul-1992

was our worst home and away loss. Just such an insipid performance.

93 Prelim sucked but the 2005 qualfying final almost hurt as much. We lost due to ill discipline and should have pumped Saint Kilda.

Wank Pork supporters like you would like to think that was but not even close.

As someone else said, Fitzroy in 95 for me. 1 of only 2 wins they had for the year under supercoach Bernie Quinlan.
