I saw that in the message box, didn’t realize I had posted it too.
If anyone can decode it, there’s a prize.
Cleveland 117, San Antonio 109

I'd agree with that, its been a bit of a cluster in terms of communications. It could have been foreseen a couple of months ago with SA sitting a game and a half clear with 3 matches to go.

I mean EPL clubs reorganise games in a packed schedule almost at the drop of a hat, hell the AFL did it last week as well.

Didn't the AFL put the game back till august, the equivalent would be the shield final being played as the first game of the next season, no worries with that.

The Shield final has always been at this time even before there was Big Bash.

Well... in actual fact they used to just crown whoever was on top and didn't have a final at all. Until the 1980s.

His interview was on AA but I heard a fair portion through SEN.
He made it sound like it was adelaide who wanted money.
What’s coming out it seems like the afl has asked for millions.
Andrew Dillion is a clown

Why wouldn't the AFL ask for millions? They have the rights, to agree they should be walking away with a tidy sum

Wouldn’t that come after? If there are any issues?
It’s not as if the afl have to do anything or go anywhere, yet.

What, you reckon they should just agree out of kindness?
No obviously you agree to compensation if something happens.
But nothing may happen and the afl wouldn’t even know what took place.

I think the AFL should be compensated to begin with and then compensated further if issues arise. Why would they even consider the risk otherwise?

Yeah that’s probably fair.

Pretty boy Pete needs to stay in his lane. Housing crisis, Ramping, jobs shortage, Business failures, and COL are just some areas that this Premier should be working on as a priority!
But he can throw $135 million on an aquatic centre to safeguard the seat of Adelaide which the majority of South Australians will never use. And find $2.8 billion for Whyalla to ostensibly save a beleaguered steelworks to say nothing of the political implications as long it directly benefits him & his government.
If the SACA (controls the ground from 8/10 to 14/3 annually) wants the final to be played at Adelaide in football season they should be compensating the AFL for all costs associated instead of hiding behind the skirts of the Government. Traditionally gutless they let a publicity self-seeking politician attempt to categorize the Adelaide Football club as a pariah (with the enthusiastic sycophantic support of 5AA).
All members support the Adelaide Football Club in protecting the club's assets
being its players, & the workplace & the interests of its members whose attendance & spending at Adelaide Oval contributes far more than cricket!
Is it not too much to expect a Premier to lead rather than always taking the cheap shot
at the AFC in this case in protecting its own interests & absolving himself from blame?

I see a few people post about crowd numbers as if it matters - no the whole thing is about the Crows

I get it but jeezus for those who have waited since 1996 and 2016 for another shot just want the best ground for us to win

What all 300 of them?

Personally, I think it would be a massive shame for SA not to play the Shield Final at Adelaide Oval. The ground is such a special place for cricket in this state and to give up the opportunity of winning our first shield in 30 years there would be crazy disappointing…

I don’t understand why Eddie Maguire’s idea of swapping our Round 3 game for North’s Round 24 game is a non-starter? It doesn’t affect either club particularly much surely? North get a chunk of home games early in the season to try and build some momentum, and the Crows finish the season off with 5 of their last 6 at home. What’s not to like from either club?

For a start all the supporters who had plenned to get to the game in a couple of weeks and might not be able to attend at the end of the year? I'm back from the UK in a couple weeks seeing family and have a ticket for the Crows North game with my old man. I'll be ****ing raging if it gets moved due to the cricket tbh.

Most of the tickets have been sold as well, I doubt the club wants to issue refunds and not have that revenue banked already.

We haven't had a Shield final at Adelaide Oval for years and the Crows have stunk diddly unk, even with all that perfect green grass and unfettered preparation.

Bring it on I say.

The last time the Redbacks won the Shield it triggered back-to-back AFL flags for us too. We should be doing everything in our power to help them.

Heck Pedlar can come in for McInerney and Matt Crouch can replace Nielsen with the gloves.

Play our game the night of the last day.
Free entry to the shield for crows members.
Allow us on the ground for the presentation and we’ll all pitch in to get the centre right.

I wouldn't be opposed to this and seems like a pretty common sense idea.

Could be a small disruption to regional crows fans who may have planned around the Crows playing and North fans that planned to travel for round 3.

Personally I doubt the club would go for it. What happens if we are out of contention for finals come round 24 - the game will be a dead rubber and sub 30k crowd or less? Whereas a Round 3 game will be 45k+ guarenteed at this stage. Seems like lost revenue that's not really acceptable given the lack of gravitas around the Sheffield Shield final.

I just don't see why they would give that up to appease a state cricket game. They will at least need to offer refunds for peoples travel and ticket purchases with only a fortnight to go.
