In my day, all boys had a favorite footy/soccer player: PELE. A favorite F1 driver: BRABHAM. A favorite cricket player: BRADMAN ... And of course, a favorite jet! Mine was the great MIRAGE jet with it's iconic wing shape. Just the best!

As a kid I remember collecting stickers from one of those mail order magazines about jets. And of course top gun was a big thing. I thought most people grew out of it by 12 years old?

We had a house in Dulwich and we would sit on the roof and watch the F111's go overhead when we had the Grand Prix.
