Pagan and co. Wrong Decision

Moving Lance Whitnall out of the forward line after his brilliant first quarter and into the backline was the wrong decision and in my view played a major part is us losing and putting a score on the board.

Thornton was doing okay on Richo, but the first sign of Richo getting on top the coaching stuff moved Lance back. Lance was superb in the forward line and should NEVER be shifted from their.

It was a really poor decision and when the game was up for grabs heading into the last quarter, they could have at least moved Lance back into the forward line to try and snatch the 4 points.

Totally gave thorton ( i dont rate him much but has a good whinge ) a slap acros the face and also robbed us of a target across half forward..putting a heap of on waites feet coming back from injury?

Pagan is a loser. It now seems blatantly clear just how good Carey was.

A day in the life of Pagan at North Melbourne:

At training does kicking it in the direction of Carey drills.

On game day tells the boys just to kick it in the direction of carey.

Comes to Carlton and asks if anyone has seen carey. Can we draft him ? No ? What about Mick Martin can we get him ?

Recruits 20 forwards hoping one of them will be like carey (dont worry about anything else mate).

None turn out like Carey, craps himself cant win a game, has his team BELTED by 100+ scores starts collecting spoons, decides best thing is to limit the BELTINGS and keep getting spoons.

Totally agree with you on this one. An absolute insult to Thornton that he was moved off Richo so quickly. You are right, he was doing a reasonable job on Richo and Whitnall was absolutely pantsing Bowden. Whitnall's creativity was needed in the front half not down on the last line of defence. Probably the move that contributed to our loss of momentum and ultimately cost us the game. The clock is ticking for Pagan. He needs to start coaching in a more attacking manner instead of trying to prevent blowouts first and then thinking about sneaking a win against the odds.

nah was a great coach early on .. but now is trying to conform with the current game (which is crap) but hasnt got the imagination(or balls) to stick to his previously succesful gameplan so just makes a 16 man backline once we look in trouble HAS NO FAITH IN OUR LIST

Total agreeance with what has been said above. Lance did not have the fitness to run with Richo all night, should have kept his in the forward line for the first three quarters then if needed thrown him in defernce as a loose player. If someone like Thornton has to have 5-6 kicked on him so be it he will learn from it and next time he comes up against Richo he would have something to prove.

By the way Murphy = Gun, showed the poise of a 50 plus game palyer, eventough people say he is too small I say he is a keeper and will be a marquee (sp?) player in the years to come.

If someone like Thornton has to have 5-6 kicked on him so be it he will learn from it and next time he comes up against Richo he would have something to prove.

And if Richo had of kicked 4-5 goals, it wouldn't have bothered me. Because I'm certain Lance would have kicked 4-5 and created another 3 goals off his own boot.

How many goals did Richo kick? 3. It wasn't like he had 5 to qtr time and it was panic stations.

The more I bloody think about the move of Whitnall down back the more I feel sick. It was poor.

You could see from almost the first bounce that Richo was in for a big one on Friday night, and no matter who played on him, he was going to do some damage.

Agree with the other posters here, we should have left Lance at CHF, where he was smashing Bowden and left Thornton on Richo.
