OK, OK, so it looks like I mis-spoke when counting out the Crows seasons. Guilty as charged. I apologize for my stupidity.

Keep in mind that my count - even though off by a year - was still correct in it's main point: That the Crows, at this year in their history, went on to win a flag. To keep up with our success, that means the Power would have to win this year.

However, for all those people who say that the Power have done more in their time in the AFL than the Crows have, I would say your argument is a waste of time.

I repeat - especially for Macca19 - you have ZERO premierships. All this talk of how much better than the Crows you have been means nothing because you don't have anything to show for it yet.

The facts are:
Adelaide Crows - 2 Premierships
Port Power - 0 Premierships.

Those are facts gentlemen, not speculation. Comparing your record of failure to ours doesn't mean anything.

When you accomplish winning a flag THEN you'll get respect but for now you haven't done anything. Just like the Crows hadn't done anything until they won the flag.

Erm, we actually lost that game by 4 points after leading all day - the umpires (as what usually happens when we play Essendon ) made some mindboggling decisions* to make sure Mark Harvey left the game on the end of a win.

*Apart from a 50 metres decision against Darren Jarman for no apparent reason after Harvey shoved him which led to a Dons goal, Peter Vardy was charged in the centre-square by that sniper Gary Moorcroft with an elbow to the head.

So TF, regardless of circumstances a 4 point loss is hardly getting "smashed" now is it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... hold up one second. I don't get your argument. IMO, the meaning of a premiership is that you were the supreme in the competition in the given year, in the Crows' case, both 1997 and 1998.

I'm struggling to understand what bearing those flags have on the outcome of the 2003 season? The 1997 and 1998 teams were markedly different from that of your current line-up, so again, what bearing will they have? All they point out is that you were the best team in a given year, and nothing else.

The Kangaroos and Essendon won the two subsequent premierships. So does that mean they're genuine finals contenders because they won said premierships. I don't think so.

The Crows and Power are both legimitate premiership chances because of the teams they currently field, not due to any previous history. In today's AFL, there is enough player turnover to the rule the successes of even 2 years prior irrelevant.

Sticking with the basketball analogies, it's like saying the Chicago Bulls are better than the Sacramento Kings due to their string of championships in the late 90s. As an aside, there was nothing wrong with the Kings' showing in the WCF last year, they were robbed.

Congratulations on your premierships, I'm glad that you were able to celebrate them in 1997 and 1998. But this is the year 2003 and I don't think Shane Ellen will be playing any match-winning performances in the near future.

I dont agree with what Floodbuster did, and i wouldnt tolerate it if i was you thats for sure. I was just saying that noddy wasnt banned for that one post...it was a series of posts with negative slants. I also didnt agree with his banning from our board either.
